Daily Puck Drop: College football tampering. Will the Pac-10 ever come back? Seahawks roller-coaster. Guests: Jim Moore. Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com

On Wednesday’s Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett, he’s joined by Jim Moore, the Go-2-Guy and his weekly Seahawks guest, Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com.  Puck gave Ryan Divish, Seattle Times the week off because coming out on Thursday is Puck’s Mariners Offseason DiamondTable Show with Divish, Adam Jude of the Seattle Times, Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio and Bill Krueger and Brad Adam from ROOT Sports. Puck and Jim open up the show discussing the Jake Dickert comments about Oregon State where he doesn’t consider the Beavers his buddies.  That led to a conversation about the changing landscape of college football and will there be a day where all the West coast teams play in one conference again.  Puck plays a soundbite from WSU defensive tackle David Gusta about the world of the transfer portal and the world of tampering by other college coaches.  Gusta is Puck’s guest this week on Coug’s Corner, which you can find on YouTube, Apple, Spotify and up at PuckSports.com.  The NCAA and college football need to get a handle on tampering and the NIL before it truly gets out of hand. Before Jim leaves, both discuss the top of Ernest Jones and why so many people after just three games want to sign him up immediately.  Also, the boys had a good laugh at the decision looming for Jedd Fisch with who he’s going to start at quarterback against Oregon.  Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.comjoins Jason “Puck” Puckett to discuss the Seahawks remarkable win over San Francisco.  Rob proclaims the 49ers finished and their window closed to make a run at the Super Bowl.  They discuss the up and down play of Geno Smith and get into the discussion of whether to pay him or not pay him.  It’s a subject that is driving Rob mad! Should the Seahawks drop everything and sign Ernest Jones to a contract?  Rob and Puck are both an agreement that it’s way too early and let the season play out before you come to any conclusion.  They also can’t figure out why Pro Football Focus (PFF) does not like Jones.  Can you believe the Seahawks have a shot at first place in the NFC West?!  Puck and Rob can’t and that’s what makes sports fun. Puck than transitions to baseball and plays a preview of his Mariners Offseason DiamondTable Show with Ryan Divish and Adam Jude of the Seattle Times. Also on the show, Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio and Bill Krueger and Brad Adam of ROOT Sports.  The full show is two-plus hours and will come out on Thursday, November 21 and is exclusively available to  Puck’s Posse Community Members. You can visit PuckSports.com to sign up or head to Patreon.com and search PuckSports. The show covers the 2024 season and what lies ahead for the 2025 season and discusses if ownership is truly all in on investing in a World Series contender. Lastly, Puck wraps up with “Hey, What the Puck!?” It’s time for the Mariners to jump into the deep end of the pool and play with the big boys. No more talking about championships. Prove it.

'Old Crimson : WSU defense broken. Dickert needs to make changes. What's wrong with Arbuckle? Dickert disrespectful to Oregon State?

On this weeks ‘Old Crimson, Jason “Puck” Puckett is once again joined by Paul Sorensen, Jim Moore and Jamey Vinnick from Cougfan.com The boys get right into the loss to New Mexico, which has now kicked them out of the College Football playoff discussion.  Once again the Cougars defense failed to deliver and Puck brought up the point that he would like to see a coaching change at the defensive coordinator position or at least have Jake Dickert take over play calling duties. They question the offensive strategy under Ben Arbuckle and wonder why he went away from the running game so quickly in the second half when it was working so effectively in the first half?   Should the Cougs incorporate more zone read for John Mateer moving forward?  And, again the problem with the Air Raid is their lack of commitment to staying consistent with the rushing attack. Dickert made headlines this week when he said Oregon State are not there buddies.  Some in the Cougars community have taken issue with what he said. Paul and Puck didn’t see the problem with what he said, but Jim did and they discuss. Lastly,  now that the carrot of the playoffs is over, what motivates the team for the last two weeks?

Daily Puck Drop: Sports are dumb and incredible at the same time. Guests: Tim Booth, Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13 "Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast."

On today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by Tim Booth, Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13 for the Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast.  Puck starts off the show without Jim Moore, who is out sick, talking bout the Seahawks win and that without a doubt it was a signature win for Mike Macdonald.  The Seahawks season was on the brink and they were able to pull off a great win on the road. Geno was great on the final drive and the defense looked like how we all thought Mike Macdonald’s defense was going to look. Puck switched gears and talked about the Cougars loss to New Mexico and once again the defense continues to be an issue. Puck thinks a change needs to be made with their defensive coordinator and let Jake Dickert just call the defense for the final two games of the season. But, Puck could sense a loss was coming and it finally did. Tim Booth, Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13 join Jason “Puck” Puckett for the Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast brought to you by Georgetown Brewery. All three agree that was clearly the best win of the season and one of the best wins for the Seahawks in the last several years. The defense was no doubt the story from the game, but the performance of Geno Smith, especially on the final drive was quintessential the “Geno Smith Roller Coaster” experience! Offensive line looked better with Abe Lucas back and Olu Oluwatimi playing center. However, as the three discussed, the running game is still very much an issue.  Devon Witherspoon was everywhere and just showed why he’s such an unbelievable weapon for Macdonald.  The play of Tyrice Knight and Ernest Jones was phenomenal and illustrated why a move at linebacker was necessary. All of sudden the Seahawks have a legitimate shot to claim first place in the division next week.  Sports are dumb and terrific at the same time. Puck then returns and discusses the rest of the sports weekend with “Weekend Roundup.”   The dud that was the Mike Tyson/Jake Paul fight, however, the women’s fight was incredible.  Are the Steelers now a legit Super Bowl contender?  Drew Lock can’t catch a break and big deal the Bills beat the Chiefs. Prove it in the playoffs. Finally, “Hey, What the Puck!?”  Puck goes back to the Seahawks.  Sports are incredibly stupid and incredibly awesome at the same time. Most Seahawks fans and Puck included had written this team off, but they found a way to have a gutsy physical win.  A win that could very well define Mike Macdonald and the rest of the season.

What will they do on the TV side of things?Puck is worried about the Cougs game against New Mexico and Jim is starting to share those concerns.  They welcome Lofa Tatupu to the show to talk about the Seahawks game against the 49ers and how the Seahawks could possibly pull off the upset.  Lofa details his business ventures with Savage Brewery and 1937 Cannabis Farms. Lofa said he was surprised that the Seahawks moved on from their linebackers but understands the decision. Lofa sees a lack of physicality and play making ability from that group.  Lofa is also surprised by the sloppiness and undisciplined football from the players and the coaches.  As they turn their attention to the 49ers, the biggest question is how do you stop Christian McCaffrey? it will take the whole defense to focus and gang tackle, something as Lofa points out that they have been bad at this season. PuckSports handicapperTroyWins.com joins the boys to discuss the upcoming football weekend. Troy gives his “Lock of the Week” and all three introduce a new segment, “Dog of the Week.”  Each picked an underdog and will keep tally for the rest of the season.  They also discussed Friday’s fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. Chris Egan of KING 5 joined Jason “Puck” Puckett to wrap up the Friday show.  Egan and Puck talked about the greatest sports broadcasters in Seattle history with the news of Dave Sims leaving for New York. Egan chastised Puck and Cougar fans for always focusing in on the Huskies.
