Episode 22: Governance With Antonio Maio
Governance is a big word and is a concept that is often thrown around. It seems to confuse a lot of organizations, even those who have successfully navigated the cultural and technology changes often brought on by cloud adoption. The 'on by default' nature of many cloud services has made it even more important for organizations to plan their governance strategy before adopting these services, so we sat down with Antonio Maio to talk about the need for governance and why it isn't something that should be overlooked.
Antonio Maio is an information security architect with over 25 years of experience in cyber security practices and systems, product management, software development and leadership. Antonio is currently an Associate Director & Senior Enterprise Architect at Protiviti and is a 7-time Microsoft MVP. Antonio also maintains trustsharepoint.com and antonio365.com where he shares his knowledge, information and experiences around Office 365 services, including SharePoint, Exchange, CRM, Azure and Microsoft Flow. Episode 21: Get-IoTEpisode -GuestName "Anthony Bartolo"
The Internet of things (IoT) seems to be everywhere these days. Anything from connected light bulbs and door bells to sensors that monitor and report the drying and curing of concrete in real time, there seems to be an IoT solution for every problem but IoT is so much more than just a sensor connected to a Raspberry PI. Microsoft's Anthony Bartolo sat down with us at Ignite to explain what IoT is, why IT Pros should pay attention and how to get started.

Episode 19: Unsung Heroes
Documentation is something we all rely on, especially in today's rapidly changing cloud world where the only constant seems to be change. Perhaps I'm a little obsessive, but I constantly use Microsoft's documentation to confirm things, even when I already know the answer. Like many people though, I never really considered what goes into making sure I have something to refer to and keeping it up to date with all the change going on. Nicolas and I had the pleasure of sitting down with Brenda Carter and Joe Davies from the Microsoft Documentation Team at Ignite recently to talk about how they do what they do, how you can help and what it takes to be a technical writer.
Brenda Carter is a Principal Technical Writer at Microsoft. Brenda works on enterprise and solution architecture across Microsoft's cloud platforms and services, from Office 365 to Azure. Recent focus areas include security and access management for Office 365 and other SaaS services, including protection for identities, devices, and files.
Joe Davies is a Senior Technical Writer at Microsoft. Throughout his career as an instructor, course developer, and technical writer, his driving concern has been presenting technical information in a way that enables someone to go from total ignorance to comfortable understanding as efficiently as possible.

Episode 15: Automation, DevOps and the evolution of the IT Pro
The word DevOps seems to be everywhere at the moment, I can't open LinkedIn without coming across a bunch of posts and articles talking about DevOps. What does it all mean, and more specifically why should IT Pros care about something that seems at first glance to be very much related to software development? I recently caught up with fellow MVPs Simon Waight and Michel de Rooij in an attempt to understand what it is and why it is something worth paying attention to.
Simon Waight is an Azure MVP from Australia who's career focus has been on the building of online software solutions resulting in a deep understanding of the technologies used and challenges faced when working in this space. He has a wide-ranging set of experiences having worked as both a consultant and an FTE and filled varied roles from development, to architecture, to release and team management. You can follow Simon on Twitter https://twitter.com/simonwaight and visit his blog at blog.siliconvalve.com
Michel de Rooij is a Dutch Office Servers and Services MVP and Consultant who spends his time helping customers navigate the challenges associated with migrating to Office 365 for Exchange and related technologies. Michel's background as a developer helps him automate processes and develop supporting tools.
Michel blogs at eightwone.com and you can follow him on Twitter https://twitter.com/mderooij

Episode 14: Waxing lyrical about GDPR with Tony Redmond
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been on everyone's mind recently. GDPR became enforceable today, 25 May 2018 and is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU and aims primarily to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data and how that data is used. It seems a lot a organizations left their GDPR strategies to the very last minute - I received a lot of GDPR related email this week! What does it all mean and why should we care? We had the pleasure of talking to Tony Redmond about it recently.
Tony Redmond has been writing about electronic mail since 1992 and is widely regarded as one of the foremost commentators on Microsoft collaboration technology. Tony has written 15 books and is the lead author of Office 365 for IT Pros which is the most practical and up-to-date guide to everything Office 365 related I've come across - and it is updated weekly.
I encourage you to follow Tony on Twitter (https://twitter.com/12Knocksinna) and to check out his weekly posts on petri.com.
