About 30% of natural gas in the U.S. passes through pipelines owned by Williams, which is undergoing a transformation under President & CEO Alan Armstrong, who was appointed to the top job in 2011. Representation among women and minorities on corporate boards is ticking up, but more work lies ahead as investors and other stakeholders demand more diversity. Data show that more diversity can drive better results, and the NYSE Board Advisory Council was launched to champion qualified candidates nominated by leaders of listed companies.
