His Startup Will Land You a Data Science Job (Jeremie Harris) - KNN Ep. 15

In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Jeremie Harris. Jeremie is the co-founder of SharpestMinds, a data science, machine learning and analytics mentorship program that's free until you get a job. SharpestMinds is a Y Combinator backed startup,  the world’s largest mentorship marketplace for data science, with mentors from companies like Google, Tesla, Airbnb and Shopify. He's also the host of the official Towards Data Science podcast, where he talks to world-class data scientists and machine learning researchers about everything from data careers to the future of humanity. Hedge Funds, Startups, and Data Science Oh my! (Andrew) - KNN Ep. 14

In this episode I had the pleasure of speaking with Andrew from dataleap. He is data scientist and youtuber who is providing a great resource free industry education. He had never written a line of code until his junior year. During his masters when he found out about the great opportunities in data science, he was able to teach himself the skills and land a job in just six months.  Since then he's bounced around a lot of industries: from cutting edge startups, to billion dollar hedge funds and FAANG companies. Each time he swapped roles, he was able to increase his base compensation and the amount of freedom in his work.  In this video, we will talk about how he learned the skills, how he conquered the interview process, and how maybe you can follow in his footsteps. Land a Data Science Job in a Different Country (Vijay Pravin Maharajan) - KNN Ep. 13

In this episode I had the pleasure of interviewing Vijay Pravin Maharajan. Vijay Pravin Maharajan has had quite the impressive career in data science and as a speaker. He was named on the top 40 Data Scientists under 40 in India, and he was the first Indian to be invited to give a Ted X talk in Germany below the age of 30. Vijay came from a electrical engineering background and currently works for the German Branch of Siemens as a data analytics expert. If you’re interested in learning more about him after watching this interview, you can find some additional details on his LinkedIn (where he boasts over 33k followers). In this interview we focus on how to transition into data science from less traditional majors like electrical engineering, how to break into data science roles in other countries (a much requested topic), and how to get comfortable with public speaking.
