The pioneers who built our civilization must all be posthumously indicted for their alleged crimes and we must spit on their graves and express no admiration for their achievements. I have been told that it's not "compassionate" for the government to catch illegal immigrants and deport them. But it's not the government's job to be compassionate. The government's job is to make and enforce laws. Individuals should be compassionate and generous. It's hard to have a discussion about immigration law with people who think there shouldn’t be any immigration laws at all. The Left is being disingenuous. They say they have a problem with separating kids, but really they have a problem with immigration enforcement of any kind.
