I Think You're Overthinking It
Chris Hardwick
Hey it’s me! Chris Hardwick! This new old podcast is now called “I Think You're Overthinking It," because, well, I am an incurable overthinker. Are you? Probably! Why else would you have clicked on this? Do you lie awake at night analyzing some random conversation you had in 2009 on a loop? Or every one since then? In an economy of attention where our minds are on overdrive every second of every day it seems damn near impossible to pump the brakes on our inner chatter. We might feel okay when we’re distracted externally with work or streaming or scrolling, but when we’re not, BOY can we think ourselves into holes—these holes keep us stuck and unable to feel peace or pursue our goals. My hope is to inspire people to take a breath, get their brain out of the way a little, and take one step forward at a time. I started many things in middle age: guitar, piano, Italian, PARENTING, even farming (I still don't think I'm ready for goats, Lydia)…and what I realized is that it’s never too late to start a new skill, hobby, or path, as long as you don’t think yourself out of it (which is very easy to do). Structurally, the show will feel very similar to the old podcast, but will touch upon navigating anxiety, trying new things, and overthinking/thought spiraling as thematic elements. Oh, and comedy. Hopefully it’s funny. It’s supposed to be! I mean, when it’s not disrespectful to do so because we’re being serious. Also it’s not a medical advice show because I am not any kind of doctor. Nor will I try to sell you supplements. I’m just a dude who has learned to coexist with a mind that was gifted with GENEROUS amounts of anxiety from a very early age. And a touch of the OCD. And I hope to help you even a little bit with your overthinking, or at least just distract you for about an hour with occasional fart jokes. Thank you if you read this far and thank you more for listening!

Scott Sigler
Scott Sigler is the NY Times Bestselling author of Contagious, Infected and the latest smash hit Ancestor. He has also been giving audiobook versions of his work in the form of a FREE PODCAST (that medium will NEVER catch on) for the last five years. Now that is some forward thinkin' right there...
In this ep we chat about extra-terrestrial sports, self-marketing and how he would have written Aliens.
Find him, appropriately, at scottsigler.com.

Bill Burr
Comedian Bill Burr yelled at Philadelphia, Chris vaguely understands hockey, Jonah understands it even less, and Matt is weirdly not tired of the running "Matt loves the Dave Matthews Band" joke, though I'm sure all of you are.

Craig Ferguson Live @ Largo!
Our third "Live @ Largo" show welcomes the amazingly brilliant and charming Craig Ferguson, musician/songstress Sara Watkins, plus surprise guests! Craig talks about his friendship with Peter Cook, explains the socio-political origins of the Daleks, and educates us Americans on the proper use of the "C" word. This episode was mindblowingly fun and I sincerely hope you get a chance to come see one of our live shows.

Number 21: iPhone Announcements from WWDC10
BONUS EPISODE!
I threw this in as an extra ep this week because I know that not all Nerdist Podcast listeners are Apple drones. If you do live an Apple-centric life, however, this episode is for YOU. After attending the keynote (which I rather enjoyed) I sat down with my pals Ryan Block of gdgt.com, Mark McClusky of Wired, and Jason Chen of Gizmodo (yes, *that* Jason Chen) to discuss the ins, outs, ups, downs and whichways of the Apple news that was kickin' it Steve Jobs-style earlier today on a gorgeous day in San Francisco.

Alison Brie
Alison Brie stars in Mad Men and Community. She is hilarious, and if there were a drug for delightfulness, certainly it would be synthesized from her DNA. She also prefers shorts to jeans. Also, Chris lost his virginity to a Belinda Carlisle song, Jonah got locked in his building due a faulty garage gate, and in addition to the Dave Matthews Band, Matt also loves Regina Spektor. I think he wants to be their baby.

Doug Benson
Doug Benson played the role of "Doug Benson" in Super High Me, Chris hasn't watched American Idol since Season 2, Jonah liked the Derrick Comedy movie "Mystery Team", and Matt wishes Dave Matthews would come to him in the night and give him "The Eternal Kiss," like some kind of jazzy vampire.
BONUS: Hard 'n Phirm song "SFH".

Matt Walsh
BONUS EPISODE! Matt Walsh is a founding member of the Upright Citizens Brigade, Chris explains what happened to L.A.'s once-thriving rail system, Jonah loves "Tales From the Crypt" and Matt likes to take romantic baths with the thought that Dave Matthews' last name is really just his pluralized first name.
Walsh is a terrific guy and this is was a SUPER fun episode.

"Weird Al" Yankovic
Weird Al is the nicest guy in the world, Chris is nice but tends to get impatient with automated customer service phone menus, Jonah is the same size as John Cusak and Matt is shattered that the Dave Matthews Band is taking a break from touring in 2011.
