16 Apr 24 – Bishop Strickland Explains His Letter to the Baptized
Today's Topics:
1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 6:30-35 - The crowd said to Jesus: "What sign can You do, that we may see and believe in You? What can You do? Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as it is written:
He gave them bread from heaven to eat."
So Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to You, it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven; My Father gives you the True Bread from heaven. For the Bread of God is That Which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
So they said to Jesus, "Sir, give us this Bread always." Jesus said to them, "I am the Bread of Life; whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst."

10 Apr 24 – The Evil of Moral Relativism, Part 2
Today's Topics:
1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 3:16-21 - God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the Name of the only-begotten Son of God. And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.

09 Apr 24 – The Evil of Moral Relativism
Today's Topics:
1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 3:7b-15 - Jesus said to Nicodemus: "'You must be born from above.' The wind blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit." Nicodemus answered and said to Him, 'How can this happen?" Jesus answered and said to him, "You are the teacher of Israel and you do not understand this Amen, amen, I say to you, We speak of what We know and We testify to what We have seen, but you people do not accept Our testimony. If I tell you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? No one has gone up to heaven except the One Who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life."

03 Apr 24 – The General Judgment
Today's Topics:
1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Lk 24:13-35 - That very day, the first day of the week, two of Jesus’ disciples were going to a village seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus, and they were conversing about all the things that had occurred. And it happened that while they were conversing and debating, Jesus Himself drew near and walked with them, but their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him. He asked them, “What are you discussing as you walk along?” They stopped, looking downcast. One of them, named Cleopas, said to Him in reply, “Are You the only visitor to Jerusalem Who does not know of the things that have taken place there in these days?” And He replied to them, “What sort of things?”
They said to Him, “The things that happened to Jesus the Nazarene, Who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, how our chief priests and rulers both handed Him over to a sentence of death and crucified Him. But we were hoping that He would be the One to redeem Israel; and besides all this, it is now the third day since this took place. Some women from our group, however, have astounded us: they were at the tomb early in the morning and did not find His Body; they came back and reported that they had indeed seen a vision of angels who announced that He was alive. Then some of those with us went to the tomb and found things just as the women had described, but Him they did not see.” And He said to them, “Oh, how foolish you are! How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets spoke! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into His glory?” Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, He interpreted to them what referred to Him in all the Scriptures. As they approached the village to which they were going, He gave the impression that He was going on farther. But they urged Him, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over.” So He went in to stay with them. And it happened that, while He was with them at table, He took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them. With that their eyes were opened and they recognized Him, but He vanished from their sight. Then they said to each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?” So they set out at once and returned to Jerusalem where they found gathered together the Eleven and those with them who were saying, “The Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon!” Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way and how He was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.

02 Apr 24 – The Power of the Resurrection of Jesus
Today's Topics:
1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 20:11-18 - Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the Body of Jesus had been. And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken my Lord, and I don’t know where they laid Him.” When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus.
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” She thought it was the gardener and said to Him, “Sir, if You carried Him away, tell me where you laid Him, and I will take Him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,” which means Teacher. Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to My brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God.’” Mary went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and then reported what He had told her.

27 Mar 24 – True Eucharistic Revival
Today's Topics:
1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Mt 26:14-25 - One of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you?” They paid him thirty pieces of silver, and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand Him over.
On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples approached Jesus and said, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?” He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, "My appointed time draws near; in your house I shall celebrate the Passover with My disciples.”‘“ The disciples then did as Jesus had ordered, and prepared the Passover.
When it was evening, He reclined at table with the Twelve. And while they were eating, He said, “Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.” Deeply distressed at this, they began to say to Him one after another, “Surely it is not I, Lord?” He said in reply, “He who has dipped his hand into the dish with Me is the one who will betray Me. The Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born.”
Then Judas, his betrayer, said in reply, “Surely it is not I, Rabbi?” He answered, “You have said so.”

26 Mar 24 – Father Jeffrey Kirby’s Advice to Bishops
Today's Topics:
1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 13:21-33, 36-38
Reclining at table with his disciples, Jesus was deeply troubled and testified, "Amen, amen, I say to you, one of you will betray Me." The disciples looked at one another, at a loss as to whom He meant. One of his disciples, the one whom Jesus loved, was reclining at Jesus' side. So Simon Peter nodded to him to find out whom He meant. He leaned back against Jesus' chest and said to Him, "Master, who is it?" Jesus answered,
"It is the one to whom I hand the morsel after I have dipped it." So He dipped the morsel and took it and handed it to Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot. After Judas took the morsel, Satan entered him.So Jesus said to him, "What you are going to do, do quickly." Now none of those reclining at table realized why He said this to him. Some thought that since Judas kept the money bag, Jesus had told him, "Buy what we need for the feast," or to give something to the poor. So Judas took the morsel and left at once. And it was night.
When he had left, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him. If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and He will glorify Him at once. My children, I will be with you only a little while longer. You will look for Me, and as I told the Jews, 'Where I go you cannot come,' so now I say it to you."
Simon Peter said to him, "Master, where are You going?" Jesus answered him, "Where I am going, you cannot follow Me now, though you will follow later." Peter said to Him, "Master, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for You." Jesus answered, "Will you lay down your life for Me? Amen, amen, I say to you, the cock will not crow before you deny me three times."

20 Mar 24 – Letter to the Baptized
Today's Topics:
1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 8:31-42 - Jesus said to those Jews who believed in Him, "If you remain in My word, you will truly be My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." They answered Him, "We are descendants of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How can you say, 'You will become free'?" Jesus answered them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. A slave does not remain in a household forever, but a son always remains. So if the Son frees you, then you will truly be free. I know that you are descendants of Abraham. But you are trying to kill Me, because My word has no room among you. I tell you what I have seen in the Father's presence; then do what you have heard from the Father."
They answered and said to Him, "Our father is Abraham." Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would be doing the works of Abraham. But now you are trying to kill Me, a Man Who has told you the truth that I heard from God; Abraham did not do this. You are doing the works of your father!" So they said to Him, "We were not born of fornication. We have one Father, God." Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I came from God and am here; I did not come on My own, but He sent Me."

19 Mar 24 – Coptics Suspend Dialogue with Church over Fiducia Supplicans
Today's Topics:
1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Mt 1:16, 18-21, 24a - Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Of her was born Jesus Who is called the Christ.
Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with Child through the Holy Spirit. Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly. Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that this Child has been conceived in her. She will bear a Son and you are to name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home.

13 Mar 24 – Supporting Concerts Funding Abortion Is a Grave Sin
Today's Topics:
1) Gospel - Jn 5:17-30 - Jesus answered the Jews:"My Father is at work until now, so I am at work." For this reason they tried all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the sabbath but He also called God His own Father, making Himself equal to God.
Jesus answered and said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, the Son cannot do anything on His own, but only what He sees the Father doing; for what He does, the Son will do also. For the Father loves the Son
and shows Him everything that He Himself does, and He will show Him greater works than these, so that you may be amazed. For just as the Father raises the dead and gives life, so also does the Son give life to whomever He wishes. Nor does the Father judge anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father Who sent Him. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears My word and believes in the One Who sent Me has eternal life and will not come to condemnation, but has passed from death to life. Amen, amen, I say to you, the hour is coming and is now here when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For just as the Father has life in Himself, so also He gave to the Son the possession of life in Himself. And He gave him power to exercise judgment, because He is the Son of Man. Do not be amazed at this, because the hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice and will come out,
those who have done good deeds to the resurrection of life, but those who have done wicked deeds to the resurrection of condemnation.
"I cannot do anything on My own; I judge as I hear, and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the One Who sent Me."
