14 May 24 – Who Is the Ultimate Authority in the Church?

Every member of the Catholic Church who is living on Earth is subject to the Pope, the Vicar of Christ. This position does not make the Pope a perfect man. Being Pope does not free him of any criticism. Bishop Strickland joins Terry Barber on The Bishop Strickland Hour to talk about how we can remain in Christ's Church and call the Pope to Fidelity when he makes comments that are contrary to the Deposit of Faith. Today's Topics: 1) Gospel - Jn 15:9-17 - Jesus said to His disciples: “As the Father loves Me, so I also love you. Remain in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. “I have told you this so that My joy might be in you and your joy might be complete. This is My commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from My Father. It was not you who chose Me, but I Who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name He may give you. This I command you:  Love one another.” Bishop Strickland and Terry discuss who, exactly, is the ultimate authority in the Church

But if I go, I will send Him to you. And when He comes He will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and condemnation: sin, because they do not believe in Me; righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see Me; condemnation, because the ruler of this world has been condemned."

01 May 24 – Apostasy Is From Within

Today's Topics: 1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 15:1-8 - Jesus said to His disciples:“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vine grower. He takes away every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit. You are already pruned because of the word that I spoke to you. Remain in Me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in Me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without Me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in Me will be thrown out like a branch and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a fire and they will be burned. If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become My disciples.” Memorial of Saint Joseph the Worker Saint Joseph, pray for us!

30 Apr 24 – The Holy Eucharist: The Truth of Who It Is

Today's Topics: 1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 14:27-31a - Jesus said to His disciples: "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. You heard Me tell you, 'I am going away and I will come back to you.' If you loved Me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe. I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over Me, but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded Me." Memorial of Saint Pius V, Pope and Religious Saint Pius, pray for us!

24 Apr 24 – Strickland in the Streets, Part 2

Today's Topics: 1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 12:44-50 - Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in Me believes not only in Me but also in the One Who sent Me, and whoever sees Me sees the One Who sent Me. I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in Me might not remain in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not observe them, I do not condemn him, for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world. Whoever rejects Me and does not accept My words has something to judge him: the word that I spoke, it will condemn him on the last day, because I did not speak on My own, but the Father Who sent Me commanded Me what to say and speak. And I know that His commandment is eternal life. So what I say, I say as the Father told Me.” Memorial of Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen, Priest and Martyr Saint Fidelis, pray for us!

23 Apr 24 – Strickland in the Streets, Part 1

Today's Topics: 1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 10:22-30 - The feast of the Dedication was taking place in Jerusalem. It was winter. And Jesus walked about in the temple area on the Portico of Solomon. So the Jews gathered around Him and said to Him, “How long are You going to keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered them, “I told you and you do not believe. The works I do in My Father’s name testify to Me. But you do not believe, because you are not among My sheep. My sheep hear My Voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of My Hand. My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s Hand. The Father and I are one.” Memorial of Saint Adalbert, Bishop and Martyr Memorial of Saint George, Martyr Saints Adalbert and George, pray for us!

17 Apr 24 – A Catholic Approach to the 2024 Elections

Today's Topics: 1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 6:35-40 - Jesus said to the crowds, "I am the Bread of Life; whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst. But I told you that although you have seen Me, you do not believe. Everything that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to Me, because I came down from heaven not to do My own will but the will of the One Who sent Me. And this is the will of the One Who sent Me, that I should not lose anything of what He gave Me, but that I should raise it on the last day. For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day." Bishop Strickland and Terry discuss how we can vote morally and according to our Catholic Faith

16 Apr 24 – Bishop Strickland Explains His Letter to the Baptized

Today's Topics: 1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 6:30-35 - The crowd said to Jesus: "What sign can You do, that we may see and believe in You? What can You do? Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat." So Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to You, it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven; My Father gives you the True Bread from heaven. For the Bread of God is That Which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." So they said to Jesus, "Sir, give us this Bread always." Jesus said to them, "I am the Bread of Life; whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst." Bishop Strickland gives an in-depth explanation of his Letter to the Baptized, thoughts on Dignitatis Infinita, and reflections on the upcoming elections and morality

10 Apr 24 – The Evil of Moral Relativism, Part 2

Today's Topics: 1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 3:16-21 - God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the Name of the only-begotten Son of God. And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God. Bishop Strickland and Terry discuss the medicinal qualities of excommunication and how it is intended to get those whom have strayed from the truth back on track, how moral relativism is the cause of many souls going to hell, God's plan for humanity:  Marriage and family, and the Sacrament of Confirmation
