e1. Introducing the Grazing Grass Podcast and Myself

Welcome to the inaugural episode of the Grazing Grass Podcast! Join me, Cal Hardage, as I share my journey into the world of grass farming and explain the motivation behind starting this podcast. As an avid podcast listener, I noticed a gap in content specifically focused on grass farming, and I decided to create a platform dedicated to helping farmers become better grass farmers. In this episode, I outline the show's format, where we plan to interview a different grass farmer each week to learn about their operations, challenges, and successes. I also provide some background about myself, from growing up on a beef cattle and dairy farm to my current role in education and technology while managing a farm with Kiko goats, Katahdin hair sheep, and Limousin cows.Listen in as I discuss my approach to grass farming, including rotational grazing and forage management, and introduce the famous four-question segment inspired by the BiggerPockets podcast. I share some of my favorite resources, such as "No Risk Ranching" and "Comeback Farms" by Greg Judy, and talk about the invaluable tools on my farm like the T-post puller and electric fence remote. Be sure to visit GrazingGrass.com for community forums and HedgeappleAcres.com to learn more about our farm and Kiko goats. I invite fellow grass farmers to join this exciting journey, share their experiences, and support the show through reviews and merchandise. Let's work together to become better grass farmers and build a thriving community!www.grazinggrass.cominstagram.com/grazinggrasswww.hedgeappleacres.cominstragram.com/hedgeappleacres Follow us on social media!Website: https://grazinggrass.com/Facebook: Grazing Grass PodcastInstagram: @grazinggrassTwitter: @grazing_grassAffiliate links:Riverside - Create professional-quality podcast episodes with ease using Riverside's seamless recording and editing tools.Podium - Unlock your podcast's potential with Podium, the AI copywriter for show notes, articles, social posts, and more!
