Hickenlooper has a master’s in geology and earth science and a B.A. in English language and literature from Wesleyan University.Senator Cassidy’s work in politics started when he was elected to the Louisiana State Senate in 2006. He later was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2008 before earning his current Senate seat in 2014. As part of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, Cassidy taught medical students and residents at Earl K. Long Hospital in 1990. He also co-founded the Greater Baton Rouge Community Clinic during this time.
