In addition, Roger holds and has held numerous academic and research fellowships including the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan; The Breakthrough Institute, and the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences. In 2016, Roger founded the Sports Governance Center at CU Athletics and served as its director for three years. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences Climate Security Roundtable, the National Petroleum Council, and several other institutions. Before starting at Bear Paw Energy as VP of business development, Pierce served in positions at KN Energy and American Oil and Gas. In 1982, he started his career in the natural gas industry at Delhi Gas Pipeline.
