Originally from Australia, Glen has lived in the UK for more than half his life. He was curate at All Soul’s Church, Eastbourne, where he and his family still worship. Since 2010, Glen has been Evangelist here at Speak Life and, in August 2014, he became Director.
Glen is passionate about people meeting Christ and equipping Christians to share their faith. He’s often found speaking at Churches and Universities, producing online media in the studio, or in his office, writing books and other evangelistic material. Glen is married to Emma, and they have a daughter, Ruby, and a son, JJ.

Spiritual Authority - David Devenish

Today’s conversation features David Devenish in conversation with Jez about Spiritual Authority.
Before being involved in full time ministry David worked as a Civil Servant and in international banking, and was part of the first UN working party looking at the problem of debt in developing countries.
Alongside this David planted Woodside Church in Bedford and served as part of the apostolic leadership team of Newfrontiers, as part of which he became involved (in the year 2000) working in the Russian-speaking world, which involved laying foundations in churches and training leaders - a work which has grown to include over 150 churches.
As well as this he has overseen New Frontier’s church planting efforts in the part of the world known as the 10/40 window which includes much of northern Africa and southern and eastern Asia.
David has also lead Catalyst a family of churches within NF, something he handed over to Simon Holley in 2017.

Children, Church & Mission - Rachel Turner & James Archer

Rachel Turner is the founder of Parenting for Faith and has worked in churches for over 15 years as a Family Life Pastor, Children's Pastor, and a Youth Pastor. She runs training days for church leaders, consults and speaks at conferences on parenting and faith in the home. Rachel has also produced the Parenting for Faith course and is the author of nine books.
James Archer. Has worked in education for over 20 years and was a primary school educator and science advisor before becoming a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education at Canterbury Christ Church University. James started his Doctor of Ministry in 2018 from York St John University and is now the CEO for The Institute for Children, Youth and Mission.

Anxiety, Acceptance & Therapy - Jo Johnson

In today’s episode Jez speaks to Jo Johnson a clinical psychologist who specialises in MS and brain injury. She has written a range of family related publications and is now offering psychological intervention and workplace training using the acceptance commitment therapeutic model (a more recent version of CBT). Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) summary:
Get in contact with and consider your core values
Develop small action patterns that help move toward those values
Jo said to ask the question: what would my values lived out look like on a camera?
For example:
“I want to be a supportive mum.” Followed by the question: “What’s the smallest action I could do in support of that value?”
Jo said that ACT is about: values driven action vs actions driven by negative thoughts and feelings.
