She is a Harvard University Associate, Dame of the Order of the Star of Italy, Co-Chair of the IUCN Fungal Conservation Committee, and author of several titles including a series of field guides to Chilean fungi and chapters in publications such as Fantastic Fungi. Giuliana has worked in the non-profit sector for the last 17 years and has held consulting positions in U.S. philanthropic foundations as well as full-time positions in international marine conservation NGOs, and Chilean environmental NGOs. How to cultivate mindful self-compassion with Chris Germer and Kristin Neff

In today’s episode, I speak with both Dr. Christopher Germer and Dr. Kristin Neff. Christopher Germer, PhD is a clinical psychologist and lecturer on psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He co-developed the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program with Kristin Neff in 2010 and they wrote two books, The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook and Teaching the Mindful Self-Compassion Program. MSC has been taught to over 200,000 people worldwide. Kristin Neff is currently an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. She is a pioneer in the field of self-compassion research, conducting the first empirical studies on self-compassion nearly twenty years ago. She is author of the bestselling book Self-Compassion, and her newest book is Fierce Self-Compassion: How Women Can Harness Kindness to Speak Up, Claim Their Power, and Thrive. The pursuit of vocation and finding purpose in life with Parker Palmer

In today’s episode, we’ll be speaking with Parker Palmer, a writer, speaker, activist, and founder and Senior Partner Emeritus of the Center for Courage & Renewal. He has reached millions worldwide via his ten books, including the best-selling Healing the Heart of Democracy, Let Your Life Speak, The Courage to Teach, and A Hidden Wholeness. His latest bestseller is On the Brink of Everything: Grace, Gravity and Getting Old (2018). Palmer holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California at Berkeley, and 13 honorary doctorates. In 1998, the Leadership Project, a national survey of 10,000 educators, named him one of the 30 “most influential senior leaders” in higher education and one of the 10 key “agenda-setters” of the past decade. The power of play and how to heal the trauma of the body

In today’s episode, I speak with Brett Fleisher, a life long pursuer of the expressive arts and authentic expression. Brett has traveled down many paths; as an actor, writer, musician, filmmaker, youth educator, somatic and reiki practitioner. After many years of feeling out of balance physically, emotionally and mentally, Brett discovered the power of somatic release and began to heal through old traumas that were causing him lifelong pain and discomfort. He instantly resonated with this approach to integrating the mind, body and belief systems and began studying the Point Holding Process and Somatic Release Technique with his beloved teachers Catalina Ureta and Judith Johnson. Brett founded The Yummy Heart in the fall of 2018 and loves working one on one with people to help guide them back into their bodies, as well as educating people on understanding the function of trauma through workshops and community gatherings.
