Devi talks with Sex Educator and Sexual Assault Survivior, Ashley Manta about how women can heal from sexual assault, and how both men and women can act to change a culture that condones sexual violence towards women. Ashley discusses the strengths she developed and challenges she has experienced as a result of surviving rape. She will share the story of her multiple rapes and then discuss the ways that she has used this trauma to move forward with her life, empowering others to speak out and tell their stories. She will share how her history of trauma has affected her sex life, both positively and negatively. She will discuss how to support survivors as well as strategies to help prevent sexual violence in the future. Ashley Manta is a sex positive feminist sexuality educator. She works as a staff writer on topics of sexuality, relationships, and empowerment for the online magazines Evolved World and Kinkly. She is a regular contributor for the Herpes Opportunity, a website and forum that provides support for people living with herpes. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for Voices, Incorporated, a non-profit designed to support survivors of sexual violence.
