Tessa Shahid (Williams at the time of recording) has experienced trauma after trauma. From her Father having a major stroke when she was only 11 years old, through to her Mother having a different major illness when she was 18, Tessa learned what it was like to simply survive. Nursing both of her parents, becoming the main income earner and trying to get an education all at once proved to be too much. The three of them ended up living in a car, and struggling to get by. Tessa experienced sexual abuse, a miscarriage and many dark days which led into weeks, which led into years, and only just recently has Tessa learned how to restart life. Today her approach is simple - to be grateful, courageous, and optimistic. Ep#8 Russell Ricks

At the age of 8 years old, Russell Ricks said an innocent child-like prayer.  He asked God to take him, and to spare him from the thralls of unjust and abusive treatment he was receiving from a First grade teacher and my peers at his school.  And when the answer came, it was a beautiful Near Death-like Experience.  An experience that would change his life forever.  He still vividly remembers the details and continues to gain new insight and meaning from it, all these years later.  He experienced love beyond anything he could imagine, and saw sights and colours that don't exist here on earth.  Join us to hear Russells first hand account of this incredible experience.
