Ep83 - Desensitisation via Distance & Flooding
Panos and Luke discuss the differences between working a dog from distance to a trigger, compared to flooding the dog with that stimulus.
Acknowledging that distance work is the preferred method for counter-conditioning to achieve desensitisation however living in the city may make this approach difficult.
Flooding can work really well for certain dogs, and preparing for the inevitable so owners know how to get out of a pickle may be a good idea.

Ep78 - Shelter Dogs: Unseen Variables in Their Training
This week Panos and Luke answer and discuss questions from Saharai, who works at Napa County Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre, in California, USA.
The shelter receives all dogs of any calibre. There are many variables making that job difficult on many levels. Not only for caring, feeding and exercising them, but adopting a behavioural training system to help the dogs that need it the most unfortunately can be the most difficult yet critical for some dogs' adoptability.
Saharai sent in many questions. These regard how dog behaviour and training practices in such a stressful, high-demand and low-funded environments like shelters can be achievable and replicable.
Panos has had some experience in working day-to-day duties in an animal shelter for multiple years along with training volunteers, staff and the dogs of the shelter, which helped him to answer Saharai's questions.
Saharai shares some great content on Instagram of the cool things she does at the shelter. These include training, rehabilitation, enrichment, and showing her raw passion. Check her out on Insta at www.instagram.com/_wolfmother_
