We reflect and expound on the incarnation by taking the ancient contemplative approach to reading scripture, namely Lectio Divina. Ep. 36 - Faith and Reason: Is Faith Irrational?
In the popular culture, it is common for one to see religious and science, faith and reason as opposed to each other. The premise is: reality is about the visible reality, religion speaks of an invisible reality, therefore, religion does not speak about reality. However, some of the most real things are non-visible, namely ideas, love, the soul, etc. By pushing religion to a side, or putting faith to a side, the driving force of truth becomes reason; And, while the Church cheers reason on, she cautions about limiting oneself to it. On this episode, we discuss how faith and reason are not only related, but, in the order of knowledge, faith how perfects and excels reason. Ep. 35 - Joey's Talk: On the Good Shephard
On this episode, Joey gives a look into a life of prayer life. Joey was asked to give a talk to a group of young adults, where he reflected on the parable of the Good Shepard. Joey uses this parable to draw out principles of the spiritual life as well as to give practical tips on how to develop a life of prayer. However, Joey does not talk on the spiritual life because he is a man of substantial prayer, rather because the Gospels provide substantial insight into the spiritual life.
