Joe Rokocoko Comes on Board and Totally ‘Rocks-KOKO’ to its Core

This week on The KOKO Show the band is back together to celebrate the fun, frivolity and fineries that finals footy has to offer. We tackle all the action of the Super Rugby Qualifying Finals, whilst also looking forward to the seismically sensational Semi-Finals this coming weekend. Plus, we get a little naughty up North for all the footy loving legends on the more populous side of the Equator, breaking down all the Champagne rugby from the URC and Premiership Semi-Finals. To help us on our journey towards podcasting perfection, we enlisted the help of one of the greatest finishers of all time to dot this episode over the white line and claim victory for the good guys. This Fijian born South Auckland raised wrecking ball made a career out of cashing cheques and snapping necks as he ran past you at a rate of knots, please welcome the swan-diving sensation that is Mr Joe Rokocoko. With Joe in tow the lads reflect on his sublime 98 Test Match career, the times he made all three of them look like chumps and what it actually takes to be one of the best wingers the rugby world has ever seen. To cap off this tremendous trot down the wingers walk of fame the lads finalise a few more selections in our table topping team of ‘Lion Tamers’. Moreover, they have a greasy little gander at some hot off the press ‘Other Rugby News’, all in the name of keeping you, our loyal listener well informed. So, book yourself a Swedish hot stone massage, sip on the complementary ice cold cucumber water and bluetooth your way into some KOKO bliss. Ilona Maher Shows KOKO that She is More than Just the Biggest Name in Rugby

This week on The KOKO Show we have landed the biggest name in World Rugby. She has represented the USA at over 30 international Sevens Tournaments, won an Olympic medal and now she is doing her thing in the 15’s game in preparation for this year’s Rugby World Cup. Although her feats on the footy field are something to marvel at, it is her work off it that has further elevated her profile into superstardom. She is an authentic pioneer for women’s sport the world over, a total badass in the body positivity space and a media mogul in every sense of the title. It is of course the one and only Ilona Maher. The KOKO Crew with Ilona in tow discussed in depth what it was like growing up in Vermont, having success at the Olympic Games, sharing her messages of female empowerment and what is next for Ilona Maher after the 2025 Rugby World Cup. A chat that not only delves into the wins she has had on the rugby pitch, but an in depth look into the hard work and perseverance of a person that has taken the rugby world by storm and made it better. Plus, the lads give you a full set of takeaways from round 14 of the Superb Rugby and the Wallaroos’ big win over the USA in Canberra. Moreover, we have a little gander at all the big talking points from the global rugby landscape in ‘Other Rugby News’, before locking in four more ‘Lion Tamers’ in our Aussie squad to take down those British and Irish bad boys. So, sit back and relax as we take a moment to marvel in the majesty of Ilona Maher, a person that has changed our game for good and will continue to put the Bae in Rug-Bae. It’s time for an all new episode of Kick Offs and Kick Ons.    TIMESTAMPS:00:00 - Start of the show02:27 - Introduction to the show 07:47 - KOKO Learnings 12:29 - Rugby Round Up Takeaways - Ardie Savea is on another level 16:19 - Brumbies are on top of the table 17:03 - The fall of the Waratahs 21:05 - James O’Connor should be picked in the Wallabies squad 21:58 - Mark Nawaqanitawase’s form at the Roosters 23:26 - Moana Pasifika are flying 25:19 - DRUA V FORCE26:11 - Away games in France 29:00 - The Force’s travel woes 31:21 - Other Rugby News 34:38 - Wycliff Palu’s mad Monday story 40:00 - Ilona Maher joins KOKO42:10 - The boys check in with Ilona Maher 43:02 - Ilona’s take on the city of Canberra 44:24 - The state of women’s rugby45:15 - Ilona’s transition to the 15 player game 46:42 - Ilona on some pinch me moments during the tour48:18 - Ilona’s cartoon crush 49:18 - Ilona’s podcasting advice for the KOKO Show 50:30 - Ilona’s love of cheese 52:10 - Ilona on the Dancing with the Stars experience 54:56 - The boys dance for Ilona 58:42 - Ilona on the Olympic Games 01:01:35 - What will Ilona do after the Rugby World Cup? 01:02:45 - Ilona on doing the Sports Illustrated shoots01:04:19 - BLACK FERNS V USA PREVIEW 01:04:56 - Goodbye to Ilona and the boys trying her lipstick 01:07:24 - KOKO’s Lion Tamers 01:10:02 - The boys remember a couple of fallen rugby players 01:10:42 - Close of the show BUY YOUR KOKO MERCHANDISE AND STAY TUNED FOR EVENTS - www.kickoffsandkickons.comMake sure you follow us on all socials:INSTA: @kickoffskickonsTWITTER/X: @kickoffskickonsYOUTUBE: @kickoffsandkickonsTIKTOK: @kickoffskickons Hosted on Acast. Mack Hansen and Sione Tuipulotu Stop by KOKO to Celebrate their Lions Selection

This week on The KOKO Show we have an absolutely smashing episode for you all. The lads are joined by the two Aussie British and Irish Lions Tourees, Mr Mack ‘Daddy’ Hansen and Mr Sione ‘The Scot’ Tuipulotu. We broke down with the boys, what it felt like to join this illustrious club, where they were when they got the news and which Australian watering holes they will be attending alongside their band of bad losers. Plus, we analysed and dissected the complete 2025 British and Irish Lions Squad with a fine tooth comb, as we tried to poke holes in their approach, highlight their weaknesses and work out how the Wallabies will win the series 3-0. Moreover, with all this hubbub about a certain red army approaching our shores, it would be easy to lose sight of all the cracking footy action happening right here in Australia and New Zealand. That is right, fear not our soggy and sodden Southern Hemisphere heroes, this week we give you all the major takeaways from round 13 of the Superb Rugby, the highs and lows of the Wallaroos’ Pac 4 campaign and a smattering of juicy rugby news from around the world. Finally, the KOKO Crew are back to work hitting the whiteboards and breathing in the sweet nectar of alcohol based cleaning products in the hope of constructing an Aussie squad akin to the ‘Locked in Lions’, that we are calling ‘The Lion Tamers’. The fellas will be picking four Australian players each week to join the noble ranks of ‘The Lion Tamers’, with the sole ambition of crushing these pompous touring tea tossers. So, sit back, relax and steep your brew with the highly dysfunctional KOKO Crew. It is time for episode 21 of Kick Offs and Kick Ons.TIMESTAMPS:00:00 - Start of the show01:29 - Gits explains why he is in London 02:45 - Intro to the show 06:01 - KOKO Learnings around Mothers Day09:22 - The KOKO boys discuss the Lions squad 13:57 - Sione Tuipulotu is back to talk about his Lions selection 14:41 - Sione talks about the moment his name was called out 20:51 - Sione talks about meeting the squad the squad for the first time 22:32 - Sione v Bundee Aki at training 23:11 - Sione on Mack Hansen 24:16 - Sione talks about the media attention about being and Aussie Lion 27:26 - Mack Hansen arrives on the KOKO Show 28:58 - Mack talks about when he found out the exciting Lions news 31:33 - Mack’s celebrations after the news 32:33 - Mack addresses the rumors his injury had him out of the tour 34:38 - Mack talks about what excites him about going on tour 35:34 - Mack talks about KOKO making him Tour Captain37:04 - Mack talks about his days touring with the Brumbies 38:37 - Mack will be single on tour with Drew 41:13 - Farewell to Mack 41:46 - The KOKO boys select their first four Lion Tamers 43:47 - The Rugby Round Up Segment - The boys talk about Taniela’s form48:17 - Joseph Suaalii injury and the Reds’ performance 49:44 - DRUA V BLUES REVIEW 51:07 - Brumbies and Reds are both peaking at the right time 52:16 - Western Force 20th Anniversary Celebrations 55:11 - The injuries in Australian Rugby 57:44 - WALLAROOS V BLACK FERNS REVIEW01:02:45 - Gits’ chat with Jamie Roberts 01:04:57 - Close of the show  BUY YOUR KOKO MERCHANDISE AND STAY TUNED FOR EVENTS - www.kickoffsandkickons.comMake sure you follow us on all socials:INSTA: @kickoffskickonsTWITTER/X: @kickoffskickonsYOUTUBE: @kickoffsandkickonsTIKTOK: @kickoffskickonsIf you do want to talk about sponsorship or anything business related then please do get in touch with us info@shtn.com.au. Sione Tuipulotu is the Centre of Attention as KOKO Finalise their Locked in Lions

This week on The KOKO Show the lads were plagued with a serious case of Les Kiss fever, but they didn't seem to be that phased by this particular ailment, as they delivered a wall to wall recap of the week that was in World Rugby. Firstly, the boys addressed the new appointment of Les Kiss as the next Wallabies coach, a decision that buoyed the boys and got them all a little hot under the saddle blanket for the future of Australian Rugby. To help the fellas through the ups and downs of Les Kiss fever, we enlisted a very special guest to add some much needed star power to our very pedestrian weekly production. That is right, this week we are joined by the Frankston firecracker, Melbourne’s man of marble and now Glasgow’s benevolent bulldozer. So, please welcome Scotland’s captain and Australia’s one that got away, Mr Sione Tuipulotu. Sione and the lads chewed the fat about all things footy, from what it was like leaving Australia for Scotland, his recovery from a peck injury and what it would feel like to be given the honour to play for the British and Irish Lions. Finally, the crew give you their tangy yet tasteful takeaways from the week of rugby, touching on week 12 of the Superb season, the Wallaroos’ big win over Fiji and all the action from the European Champions Cup Semi-Finals. Lastly, to put a big fat bow on what has been a constant segment for the show all year, the lads finally cement their lucky 37 as we finalise our squad of Locked In Lions. So knock back a couple of downers, put on your compression socks and talk shit to your flight attendant, this metal bird is taking to the skies and boy it is going to be a bumpy fucking ride. It is time for an all new Kick Offs and Kick Ons.TIMECODES: 00:00 - Start of the show 01:23 - The boys talk about Les Kiss getting the Wallabies job 07:31 - The boys talking about their first kisses 11:35 - Prof’s poem 12:58 - Introduce Sione Tuipulotu15:13 - Sione talks about his injury recovery 19:06 - Sione talks about his return to rugby 20:51 - Sione wants to fold Rob Leota on the Lions Tour 21:38 - Sione talks about playing rugby in Melbourne as a kid22:53 - Sione’s decision to move to Scotland 29:28 - Sione’s take on how many Scots will be in the Lions squad 31:38 - Sione’s culture shock moving to Scotland 33:54 - Sione talks about potentially playing for the Lions as an Australian 37:43 - who is the lippiest of the Wallabies 38:43 - Bench, start and drop 40:37 - Locked in Lions final selections 50:27 - The KOKO takeaways from the week of footy: KB’s return for the Force 53:13 - DRUA V REDS REVIEW 54:37 - BRUMBIES V WARATAHS REVIEW 58:40 - Ardies Savea and his current form 01:00:03 - WALLAROOS V FIJIANA REVIEW 01:01:33 - European Champions Cup Scores 01:06:49 - DEAR DREW: Swoop’s Eulogy 01:15:43 - Close of the show BUY YOUR KOKO MERCHANDISE AND STAY TUNED FOR EVENTS - www.kickoffsandkickons.comMake sure you follow us on all socials:INSTA: @kickoffskickons TWITTER/X: @kickoffskickons YOUTUBE: @kickoffsandkickons TIKTOK: @kickoffskickons If you do want to talk about sponsorship or anything business related then please do get in touch with us info@shtn.com.au. Ben Donaldson is a Perfect Ten, Adding a Little Credibility and Heaps of Hair to the KOKO Show

This week on The KOKO Show the boys regroup after a big ANZAC Weekend and they reflect on all the magnificent footy that was played in round 11 of the Superb Rugby, whilst also looking forward to the final five weeks of the season and predicting which team will come out on top. In a weekend where the Brumbies had a stumble, the Reds caught fire, the Savea brothers kicked ass and the Chiefs still reigned supreme, the lads had their work cut out for them, as they tried to make sense of this topsy turvy 2025 season. To round out this robust rugby recap the lads debuted a new segment called ‘The Transfer Tracker’, where the boys gave their immediate reactions and dissections to all of the big player moves both in Australian Rugby and around the world. That’s right the KOKO Crew is giving you a big old ‘RA RA’ wrap to fill up your Ozempic tainted tummies and of course, we always wash it down with a pint of our finest ice cold shit talk. Plus, Ladies and Gents that is not all, to add some much needed credibility to this rumbling bumbling poor excuse of a podcast, the lads enlisted the help of the best number 10 in Australia. No, it isn’t Noah Lolesio, nor is it Lawson Creighton and we couldn’t make Tommy Lynagh’s monetary deal, so in reflection we got what we got. Nonetheless please welcome the hairiest handler of balls in the business, it is the one and only Mr Ben Donaldson. Moreover, Benny takes us through why the Force are fighting for every inch in 2025, what he really thinks of Carlo Tizzano and how excited he is about hopefully taking on the British and Irish Lions this year. So sit back, relax, elevate your gout riddled feet, peel a couple of leftover choccy eggs and suck back on an ice cold Crown Lager. It is time to get fancy as f#*k and tune into an all new episode of Kick Offs and Kick Ons.            TIMESTAMPS:00:00 - Start of the show 03:44 - Intro to the episode 07:02 - KOKO Learnings from the weekend 13:15 - New Segment: The Transfer Tracker 18:27 - Rugby Roundup - The Savea brothers and the Moana win over the Drua 22:34 - The Reds defeating the Blues in style 28:50 - Ben Donaldson’s quick restart to Harry Potter 31:55 - Introduce Ben Donaldson 33:15 - Ben talks about the Force’s loss to the Chiefs34:07 - The boys have an issue with TMO intervention 36:43 - The Force’s set piece struggles 28:27 - Ben talks about the Force’s off the cuff identity 39:24 - Ben talks about KB’s return40:00 - Ben talks about why he is so hairy and his grooming habits 44:28 - Ben talks about the upcoming Lions Series 48:21 - Ben talks about Carlo Tizzano 50:07 - Bench, Start and Drop / Deserted Island 55:56 - The Boys have a look at the newest Wallaroos squad 58:11 - Crowd shoutout for help with our Locked In Lions 59:34 - Close of the show   BUY YOUR KOKO MERCHANDISE AND STAY TUNED FOR EVENTS - www.kickoffsandkickons.comMake sure you follow us on all socials:INSTA: @kickoffskickonsTWITTER/X: @kickoffskickonsYOUTUBE: @kickoffsandkickonsTIKTOK: @kickoffskickonsIf you do want to talk about sponsorship or anything business related then please do get in touch with us info@shtn.com.au. Billy Pollard Hunts for Easter Advice on KOKO whilst Super Rugby Twists and Turns Yet Again

This week on The KOKO Show we celebrated the Easter Break with a rip snorter of an episode that really rolled the stone away and allowed the lads to sink their teeth into a wonderful weekend filled with choccy eggs and fantastic friggin footy. The boys get down and dirty hunting for all the little bits and bobs from the Women’s Super Rugby Champions Final that saw the Blues defeat the Waratahs, they got stuck into week 10 of the Superb Rugby as we head into the final couple of months and finally they fastened down the last three ‘Locked in Lions’ on our very special whiteboard.Plus, it wouldn't be an Easter special without a guest that somewhat resembles a delicious little Lindt Ball, so we brought in Canberra’s really bad bunny and one of our favourite bucking Brumbies, Mr Billy ‘found love in a hopeless place’ Pollard. With Billy in tow we dissect how the Brumbies are bulldozing their way into finals contention, his desire to play a big part in the upcoming Lions Series and why James Slipper has become a bit of a bully in his twilight years. So pop on your bunny ears, fluff up that cotton tail and put yourself in a compromising yet sexy position on the kitchen table. It is time to be a raunchy little rabbit this Easter, whilst enjoying the latest episode of Kick Offs and Kick Ons. Pierre Schoeman Packs in Tight with KOKO as we Dive Into a Wonderful Week of Footy

This week on The KOKO Show we get our Swoopy back from his impromptu golfing trips to make the group whole again as we break down a wonderful week that was in the world of rugby. The lads came together to run a fine tooth comb through the Super Rugby W Final that saw the Tahs tackle the Reds at North Sydney Oval, to make it back to back chips in 2024 and 25. Plus, we go large on round 9 of the Superb Rugby Pacific, highlighting the Brumbies big win over the Reds, the Tahs toppling the challenging Chiefs and the Crusaders taking their rightful place back on top of the Super ladder. Moreover, the boys go full business mode as they tackle all the hard hitting topics in a saucy smattering of Other Rugby News. However, the highlight of Episode 17 has to be our very special guest, all the way from the fortified walls of Edinburgh Castle with his new Whiskey in hand and donning a gorgeously snug pair of togs, it is Scotland’s South African chunky chappy Mr Pierre Schoeman. We discuss everything from the state of rugby north of the wall, what it was like growing up in South Africa and now proudly playing for Scotland and finally his delicious little side business he shares with teammate and friend Duhan van der Merwe. So sit back, relax and hook up your IV drip full of Hirundine Whiskey and just let those mellow smokey notes of four flogs trying to make a rugby pod fill your gills with glee. Because it is time for episode 17 of Kick Offs and Kick Ons.        TIMESTAMPS:00:00 - Start of the show02:24 - Introduce the show 05:25 - KOKO Learnings 09:57 - Other Rugby News 16:49 - Rugby Round-up - Super W Final Review 18:57 - Wallaroos chat heading into Pac-4 and RWC20:56 - Australian Super teams heading for winning records in 202521:54 - REDS V BRUMBIES 23:26 - Squeak and Gits blow up26:45 - WARATAHS V CHIEFS - BEST TRY EVER!31:09 - Gits is sleeping with mouth tape now 32:04 - Super Rugby halfway check in 35:02 - Introduce Pierre Schoeman 38:13 - Pierre and Duhan have a Whiskey company 40:05 - Pierre shows us his swimming trunks 44:02 - How did Pierre end up in Scotland 46:11 - The style of rugby in Edinburgh 48:00 - What is it like playing the Springboks BUY YOUR KOKO MERCHANDISE AND STAY TUNED FOR EVENTS - www.kickoffsandkickons.comMake sure you follow us on all socials:INSTA: @kickoffskickonsTWITTER/X: @kickoffskickonsYOUTUBE: @kickoffsandkickonsTIKTOK: @kickoffskickonsIf you do want to talk about sponsorship or anything business related then please do get in touch with us info@shtn.com.au. This week on The KOKO Show the boys are dealing with some post Hong Kong hardships and Swoop forgot to tell us that he was off to NZ to play golf. However, the remaining members of our merry band go in deep and dark to tackle the world of footy as we look at the Superb Rugby, Superb W, the Singapore Sevens and Drew has a bone to pick with the European Champions Cup in a brand new ‘What's Drewing?’. Plus, we are joined by one of Australia's best young backrowers, a man that is making the Brumbies buck in 2025 with his ample sized Bathurst born body, please enjoy our time with Mr Tom Hooper. With Tommy in toe we discuss everything from his fine form in the Superb Rugby, his aspirations of playing in the Lions Series and all the way through to his impending exodus to Exeter. Lastly, we jot down a few more of our lucky ‘Lock in Lions’ and as the list is getting more full by the day there might have to be a small KOKO cull in the coming weeks, before the lads release their finalized squad officially. So throw down a six-pack of dim sum to lift the energy levels and shake your hips like you are the only person having a go in Wan Chi, it is time for a heart stopping body popping episode of Kick Offs and Kick Ons.TIMESTAMPS:BUY YOUR KOKO MERCHANDISE AND STAY TUNED FOR EVENTS - www.kickoffsandkickons.comMake sure you follow us on all socials:INSTA: @kickoffskickonsTWITTER/X: @kickoffskickonsYOUTUBE: @kickoffsandkickonsTIKTOK: @kickoffskickonsIf you do want to talk about sponsorship or anything business related then please do get in touch with us info@shtn.com.au.
