147: Foundation Stage Forum with Ben Case

Today we focus on EYFS with Ben Case from the Foundation Stage Forum and Tapestry - An Online Learning Journal. The Foundation Stage Forum is a gathering place for anyone involved in Early Years and Primary teaching and learning.Tapestry builds a very special record of a child’s experiences, development and learning journey through their early years and primary education. Using photos, videos and diary entries, a teacher or early years practitioner, along with the child’s parents, ‘weaves’ the story of the child and how they are growing and developing. As a Reception teacher at a school in Littlehampton, Ben was one of Tapestry's early customers. He made good use of the helpful Product Support Team, sending them lots of emails. Eventually, he was invited to come and meet everyone at ‘Tapestry Towers’. He must have made a good impression because a few years later he found himself at his very own desk at the new Tapestry HQ. Ben now uses his experience of teaching 4 year olds to help him adjust to working in an office - he finds it comes in handy with his colleagues, as well as making him a knowledgeable Education Advisor! He also tweets (a lot!) and runs the Tapestry Support Group on Facebook.www.eyfs.info/Social Media Information@EYFSF'Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire'Show Sponsor The National Association for Primary Education speaks for young children and all who live and work with them. 143: How to create education online courses

Have you ever wanted to turn your expertise and knowledge into an online course to help others? I chat to Billy Bross who explains how his idea took him from a side project to a full time business.Billy Bross had a thriving career as a consultant in the energy industry, working with important clients like the Department of Energy, Native American tribes, and Fortune 500 companies. It was an interesting and rewarding career, but deep down he was looking for something more. He wanted to do something he was passionate about, a venture of his own. He began with a beer brewing blog and had unexpected success offering tips on home brewing. Billy took a chance and decided to sell an online course on the topic. It worked! He quickly began making as much money from selling his course as he made as a successful energy consultant. Since then, he has dedicated himself to helping online education companies and course creators break through the noise and fill their programs with committed, high-quality students and helping them make a good living while having a positive impact.https://www.billybross.comTwitter: @BillyBross1Facebook: /billybpublicInstagram: @billy.brossLinkedIn: in/billybrossShow Sponsor The National Association for Primary Education speaks for young children and all who live and work with them. 140: The Yoghurt & Juice Network

Health and nutrition education for teachers and parents. Support your children to learn about their wellbeing in school or online. The Yoghurt & Juice Network was an idea born during a long car journey, where founders and Nutritionists, Yasmin and Jenna, were fed up of listening to the responsibility of the current state of children’s health being passed between parents, schools, industry, government and so on. As a result, they decided to take on some of the responsibility themselves, by creating The Yoghurt & Juice Network and providing credible nutrition education, first hand, to children, parents and teachers in schools and colleges. The network strives to achieve it’s aims through delivering classroom workshops, assemblies, whole school initiatives and teacher and parent talks through innovative and creative means. At The Yoghurt and Juice Network we strongly believe that healthy eating should always be enjoyable, delicious and never a chore. We believe in educating children to allow them to enjoy making healthier choices whilst understanding the benefits to their long term health. We strongly feel that children should be provided with the best chances possible and understanding the relationship between what they eat and their health outcomes is the perfect place to start.www.theyoghurtandjuicenetwork.comInstagram @theyoghurt&juice_networkhttps://www.facebook.com/theyoghurtandjuicenetwork/https://www.patreon.com/theyoghurtandjuicenetwork'Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire'Show Sponsor The National Association for Primary Education speaks for young children and all who live and work with them.
