In the last two seasons, Trevor Bauer has gone from being the Cy Young Award-winning star of the L.A. Dodgers to pitching for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of Japan’s Central League, all over sexual assault charges in the wake of the #MeToo movement. Major League Baseball immediately suspended Bauer for 324 games, basically banishing him from the majors. After the due process played out, California authorities refused to bring criminal charges, and Bauer settled a civil suit without admitting guilt or paying his accuser. Jason says it's easy to lay blame for Bauer’s situation, but it doesn’t rest where you might think. “It’s easy to simply blame the #MeToo movement and castigate the women who have used the movement to bully and terrorize men. Men are to blame for what happened to Trevor Bauer, including Trevor Bauer himself. The two biggest stories in football right now have nothing to do with people taking the field to play the game. It’s all about Taylor Swift and Deion Sanders’ celebrity status. Steve Baker is one of only five journalists in the world with access to the more than 41,000 hours of video from January 6, 2021. Baker joins “Fearless” to share the stories of Capitol Police Officers Harry Dunn and Lt. Tarik Johnson, their actions, and their consequences. You’ve probably heard and seen Harry Dunn’s story. He was on ABC News alleging that Trump supporters began chanting the N-word at him as he stoically stood guard over the U.S. Capitol that day. For his service, he was awarded the President’s Citizen Medal by Joe Biden and is releasing a book about his “heroic” efforts that fateful day, “Standing My Ground: A Capitol Police Officer's Fight for Accountability and Good Trouble After January 6th.” The only problem is that there’s no video evidence of what Dunn charges. On the other hand, there’s the case of Lt. Tarik Johnson, an officer vilified for questioning much of the narrative surrounding the January 6 events. Baker calls Johnson “a truth teller” and says every part of Johnson’s recounting is backed up by video evidence. Johnson was suspended for nearly a year and a half and ultimately resigned as a Capitol Police officer. Johnson’s crime that day? Making the decision to evacuate the Capitol building without command. The person in charge of making that decision, acting chief Yogananda Pittman, went radio silent as protesters were making their way into the building. Johnson took the initiative to protect the legislators and evacuate. Colin Kaepernick is getting more desperate by the day. The 35-year-old, controversial former 49ers QB penned a letter to the New York Jets following Aaron Rodgers' injury to beg for a roster spot, not as a starter, but as a practice squad player. The poster child for anthem protests wrote it’d be an honor to help prepare the Jets' defense each week. The man who once compared the National Football League to slavery now so desperately wants back on the plantation, he’s willing to start at the bottom. Kaepernick’s career Hail Mary is an admission that his original protest was devoid of substance and driven by the social media stimulus that grants clout and relevance to black people who troll white evangelical conservatives.
