Setting goals in your inner GPS system Joseph Costello, business mentor and entrepreneur
Some of the best entrepreneurs are self made entrepreneurs who made it through hard work and persistence, entrepreneurs such as Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford and Steve Jobs.. One such Irish entrepreneur is Joseph Costello who is also one of Irelands top business mentors. Ronan talks to Joseph about entrepreneurship and more.
Joseph talks about his background, how he grew his limousine business, how he expanded himself as an individual, the paradigm, the importance of happiness, the law of gestation, and why life is a journey. Joseph also talks about how he handles his mentoring, Napoleon Hill, decision making, tweaking your mind and brain, going into panic mode, asking the right questions, how he was recently named as best innovative business mentor, and the best advice he would give.
More about Joseph Costello:
Joseph Costello grew up in Bohernabreena, West Dublin and left school at the age of 15. He went straight into work in a local coal yard until the age of 18 when he began working with his father in the local council. He stayed in that role for several years but at the age of 23 he began what he refers to as a “a path of self-destruct” when he suffered from a mental breakdown and began to question where he was going in life.
It was during this time the opportunity came about for Joe to purchase a limousine which a friend was selling, he saw an opportunity and went for it. In 2008, he expanded his fleet and had 5 limousines, this grew to 31 in 2013. In 2013, he also purchased his first commercial property which subsequently led to another substantial purchase of a couple of thousand square feet in 2016 and led to over 50 tenants. He currently has a planning application in review for over 1,100 properties in West Dublin.
In terms of personal self-development, he notes a key defining moment on his journey which occurred when he saw a TV documentary on Bob Proctor and the power of the mind. This sparked his interest in self-development and he began partaking in various courses associated with psychology and hypnosis. He was at an event when an opportunity presented itself to meet Bob Proctor - having studied his material, Joe was lucky enough to have made a good connection with Bob who advised him in all aspects of his life and Joe then went from studying with Bob to now being a consultant - one of his top global consultant worldwide with clients based all around the world.
He was recently awarded “Best Innovative Business Mentor” (Irish Enterprise Awards) and listed in the Top 10 Business Mentors in Dublin (Influence + Digest).
Whilst his business has grown substantially in the last 20 years, his path of self-development and performance mentor has led him to guide other business owners and people looking for guidance on a path of personal growth and success - he is committing to helping others reach their true potential through the same principles which he has applied to his life which has led to his self-made millionaire status with what he refers to as “little or no education”.

Thats why viruses and diseases exist Paul Flanagan, Managing Director of Camfil Ireland and Dr. Kevin Nolan UCD
As we move back to indoor dining for next Monday, what can we do to it make it safer in poorly ventilated areas?. Well, a recent UCD study has found that air purifiers have four-fold increase in the removal of aerosols in poorly ventilated spaces. Ronan talks to Paul Flanagan, Managing Director of Camfil Ireland and Dr. Kevin Nolan of the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at UCD who were involved in the study.
Paul Flanagan and Dr. Kevin Nolan talk to Ronan about the study, the camel device they used, the filters used in air cleaners, HEPA filters, why we should be copying what the healthcare industry is doing, and the governments official document on HEPA filters. Paul Flanagan and Dr. Kevin Nolan also talk about why schools can’t just rely on open windows, computational fluid dynamics, mask wearing, LiDAR technologies, using smartphones to detect things, how efficient filters are, how technology can be a safety net, and be aware of your own personal health.
More about the study:
The study by Ireland's largest air filtration provider, Camfil in conjunction with University College Dublin (UCD) and the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital (MMUH) found that Camfil's City M air purifiers remove aerosols from poorly ventilated rooms at four times the normal rate. Experiments conducted by leading UCD researcher and lecturer, Dr. Kevin Nolan of the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, on the presence of aerosol in poorly ventilated spaces, used Camfil’s City M air purifiers to rapidly clean a room of aerosol. Camfil is a leading solutions provider that has over 50 year’s experience in clean air.

Space Robots and Space Debris with Tom McCarthy of Motiv Space Systems
In todays podcast I chat with Tom McCarthy who gives us a birds eye view of the issue of space junk/debris that has until quite recently managed to stay under the public radar. As a space robotics expert Tom McCarthy reminds us about how the unpredictable reentry of the Chinese Long March booster rocket that brought the problem of space junk to the forefront, and how advanced near-space robotics will play a crucial role in solving this problem?
Motiv Space Systems was founded in 2014 by three experienced robotics engineers, Chris Thayer, Brett Lindenfeld and Tom McCarthy. The company’s founders believed that they could develop and build space-based robotic systems more efficiently and with a higher level of quality and capability than their competitors in the market.
They were quickly proved right, earning and successfully executing NASA contracts for a range of missions, including most recently the robotic arm on the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover.
In 2020, Motiv launched their groundbreaking xLink Robotic Arm System, a space-rated modular robotic arm that sets a new standard for capability and affordability, and brings robotic arm capabilities in reach of a whole new class of missions.
Mr. McCarthy is VP of Development at Motiv Space Systems; the firm designs robotics and advanced components for space exploration, most recently the arm and camera on the Perseverance rover.

Innovation is value neutral; it’s our collective responsibility to build technology that works for all
As the saying goes, “I have not failed 1,000 times, I have successfully found 1,000 ways that will not make a light bulb.” This — or some version of it — is often credited to Thomas Edison, on his quest to come up with an efficient incandescent lamp.
As we look back at past innovations, and marvel at the ingenuity and perseverance of scientists and entrepreneurs, what inspires you? And how do our lived experiences influence the paths that we choose to follow and what values we hold dear?
In this episode of One Vision, Theo and Bradley chat with Emeka Nwonu about his past, present, and future — from Nigeria, UK, and beyond.
