AI is becoming a crucial part of our personal and professional lives. With increased adoption, the need to address data bias and privacy is more urgent than ever. There is always going to be bias in the data. The question is not so much so if the data is biased; but more so on how it is biased. It is not a set and done deal, according to Laura. Increasingly, regulators will require more transparency on how decisions are made by algorithms, control on how such such powerful technologies will be utilized — and ultimately, how individuals and small businesses will be impacted. At a time when cybersecurity is a growing concern for Irish businesses, Centripetal have taken the decision to open its European Cyber Intelligence Centre of Excellence in Galway, from where it will aim to address cybersecurity opportunities in the UK and Ireland.
