It’s common to think about students being prepared to enter into the secular workforce upon college graduation. But Scott Pace, Vice President of Undergrad Studies and Dean of Southeastern Seminary, discusses the difference between our universal call to the ministry of the gospel and a unique, specific and vocational one. He also shares what it takes to get next gen students thinking about entering into careers in ministry after college.

Often, the topic of discipleship gets lost in the conversations about evangelism—that initial sharing of the gospel with someone who doesn’t know Jesus. Robby Gallaty, Senior Pastor of Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee, joins Shane to make sure churches and next gen pastors and leaders aren’t missing out on the importance of discipling students, too.

Peter Yanes is the executive director of Asian Relations and Mobilization with the Southern Baptist Conventions’ executive committee. In this episode, he joins Shane Pruitt to talk about how great a need there is for the gospel to be shared among more than 22 million Asian Americans living in the United States.

Perhaps one of the greatest disciplines the next generation can learn is the discipline of how to defend the Christian faith. The big, fancy word for this is “apologetics.” And Lee Strobel, an atheist-turned-Christian and now one of the most well-known Christian apologists around, is well equipped to share tips on how to help students learn to defend their faith in a cultural climate where attacks on Christianity seem to not just be tolerated—they’re encouraged.

Perhaps one of the most hot-button conversations across the landscape of next gen ministry is reaching Gen Z specifically with the gospel. Scott Dawson is the founder of the Strength to Stand Student Conference, and in this episode, he chats with Shane Pruitt about the necessity of building relationships with this generation in order to earn the right to be heard as you share the gospel.
