Happiness is NOT the Meaning of Life - Alan Watts | After Skool

Happiness is NOT the Meaning of Life - Alan Watts Some of history's greatest philosophers have spent their entire lives writing about the meaning of life. Why are we here? Surely there must be a reason? Many people in western culture believe the meaning of life is to "be happy". Alan Watts has a brilliant way of eloquently challenging this notion. If we were to live in a state of eternal bliss, then bliss would become dull. Without darkness, there would be no light. Without pain, there would be no pleasure. Happiness is based in perspective. Embrace every aspect of life, the good and the bad, and learn to see the beauty in it.Please help us keep this channel running by supporting us on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/AfterSkool . Does More Money Equal More Happiness? | After Skool

Does More Money Equal More Happiness? Psychologists have discovered that there are essentially 2 types of happiness, Extrinsic and Intrinsic. Extrinsic, focuses on money/material wealth, image and status. Happiness derived from these external sources result in a short-lived dopamine spurt and a never-ending state of wanting more. Intrinsic happiness on the other hand is derived from following a passion, personal growth, making the world a better place or loving relationships with family and friends. These are things that money can’t buy, and result in a long lasting joy from within. For more interesting weekly videos PLEASE SUBSCRIBE :)Animation by http://www.kramgallery.com/ Follow the podcast for new episodes. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) - Maximum Results, Minimum Time | After Skool

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) - Maximum Results, Minimum Time High Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT, enjoys the benefits of both steady cardio AND weight lifting. The body burns fat 3x faster than steady cardio, while building muscle at the same time. Weight lifting alone does little to burn fat, and steady cardio, like jogging, does little to build muscle. During HIIT, The back and forth of explosive activity to rest causes muscle confusion and the body responds by growing muscle rapidly. At the same time the heart rate will skyrocket, burning glucose and giving you an excellent cardio session in a very short period of time. What’s probably most fascinating about HIIT is what happens after the workout is over. HIIT creates a strong excess post-oxygen consumption effect, where the body continues to consume oxygen after the workout in order to recover the muscles back to their preworkout state. So the body revs up the metabolism and keeps burning calories and fat during recovery and this effect can last up to 24 hours after the workout is done.HIIT workouts can be done anywhere at anytime. There is no equipment or membership needed and most workouts are less than 30 minutes. For more interesting videos please subscribe. The Benefit of Living With No Purpose - Alan Watts | After Skool

Alan Watts, a renowned British philosopher, dives deep into the idea of living without a predetermined purpose. He contrasts the dangers of totalitarian control with trusting nature and discusses how modern education often stifles genuine learning. Watts promotes the appreciation of beauty for its own sake, presenting purposelessness as a compliment in Eastern thinking. He provocatively suggests that life's value lies in the experience itself, advocating for a playful approach to existence, free from rigid religious constraints.

ARE YOU AN ALPHA? - Simon Sinek - Why Leaders Eat Last | After Skool

ARE YOU AN ALPHA? - Simon Sinek - Why Leaders Eat Last In this in-depth talk, ethnographer and leadership expert Simon Sinek reveals the hidden dynamics that inspire leadership and trust. In biological terms, leaders get the first pick of food and other spoils, but at a cost. When danger is present, the group expects the leader to mitigate all threats even at the expense of their personal well-being. Understanding this deep-seated expectation is the key difference between someone who is just an "authority" versus a true "leader."For more animated talks please subscribe.Animation by https://www.kramgallery.com/Full presentation can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReRcHdeUG9Y Follow the podcast for new episodes.
