Documentary Reveals truth behind what we eat in America.

"Eating You Alive" is a new documentary film that examines why so many Americans are getting and staying sick, and explores whether there's any correlation to the kinds of foods they eat on a daily basis. The film also incorporates expert opinions from doctors and perspectives from several high-profile celebrities that believe one specific lifestyle change -- choosing whole, plant-based foods over animal products -- could be the solution.   VIEW SCREENINGS in 2017 ... www.eatingyoualive.com   Meet Dr. Evan Allen   Dr. Evan Allen is an internationally recognized, award-winning Family Practice physician. Despite decades of experience, he continues to seek out the latest scientific findings and incorporate them into his medical practice, to the benefit of his patients. He is highly regarded by both patients and colleagues as a knowledgeable and personable doctor, and has received numerous awards over his lifetime of achievement.   In 2011, Doctor Evan Allen was diagnosed with hepatic steatosis (an increased buildup of fat in the liver — also known as fatty liver). Thus began his research studying various foods and their effects upon the body. His research confirmed his theory that some foods promote disease while other foods heal. He changed his diet. After six months, he lost 50 lbs. The fatty liver was gone, and the cough and wheezing he had suffered daily dissipated. Since his personal discovery, his passionate pursuit of excellent health via good nutrition has never waned. He has taken extensive additional training in lifestyle medicine and is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM). He will be taking the exam for the American Board of Obesity Medicine in December 2016. He takes pride in providing education and support to his patients and celebrates with them the resulting improvement in their health.   © Concierge Medicine Today, LLC. Interior Design for Boutique Clinics, Part 1

Our podcast guest is Cheryl Janis, Principal Designer Interior Design for Health & Wellness   Cheryl Janis teaches doctors and healthcare professionals how to transform their practices into nurturing spaces that increase revenue. Unlike conventional interior designers, Cheryl uses an interdisciplinary approach to design—evaluating the patient experience from the moment they walk through the door until the time they leave, and every step in between.   Healthcare Topics Discussed in this Podcast   Beauty boosts the immune system. I understand how stressful and overwhelming it can be to open a new concierge medicine practice. The owner physician has a million and one tasks at hand, and too often they’re not able to get all the support they need because of a limited budget. There is plenty of evidence that shows just how effective simple design elements can be in facilitating healing, reducing anxiety and pain and increasing comfort and joy. In my thirteen years plus experience of designing boutique healthcare spaces, I’ve seen how a new design creates an overwhelmingly positive experience for patients. As a result, referrals shoot WAY up at an average of 35% and oftentimes much more within the first 6 months of installing the new design. By using a few basic holistic and evidence-based DIY design techniques, this process can begin immediately.   © Concierge Medicine Today, LLC. The Rise of "BRAND X" in Private Pay Medicine

In this episode, James J. Eischen, Jr., Esq., of Lofty Learning and Eischen Law Offices catches up with The DocPreneur Leadership Podcast editor/host at the Concierge Medicine Forum in Atlanta, GA.   They discuss the emerging market of "BRAND X" in private medicine.   LISTEN TO PODCAST EXCERPT   "This is really going to take off and it is another version of private medicine. It is not necessarily an exclusive category [at this time]," says Eischen. "It may include mHealth, Genetic Testing, Apps, health coaching, etc. It seems to be an opporunity to explore. It has the same challenges as private medicine. It [also] has some advantages over the other models for using HSA or FSA dollars." Concierge Medicine Today (CMT), the national trade publication, recently released a statement discussing the role of other technologies and their use and application in private, direct medicine.   © Concierge Medicine Today, LLC. "Membership" Pharmacy. Where Everyone Qualifies + Rx Is Affordable

Meet with Dr. Phil Baker, Custodian of Good Shepherd Pharmacy (GSP). GSP is a Membership Pharmacy, Where Everyone Qualifies and Prescriptions Are Made Affordable.   Phil's Story ...   "I love serving people as a pharmacist. I enjoy getting to know them and helping them with their health issues. However, I began to be troubled by many aspects of how pharmacies run, specifically the high cost of medications for the poor. I pondered and prayed on those issues to see if there might be another way to help patients that would solve some of the problems endemic in the current system. I'm a devout Christian who loves to apply my profession to serving patients rather than trying to profit from them. I knew that my core values as a Christian had to inform my solution, but that it also had to be a working business model to survive. What I came to is a completely new business model for operating a pharmacy: a membership-based pharmacy. This model has been wildly successful for businesses like Costco and for “boutique medicine” doctors, so I knew it could work in a pharmacy setting. The customers, members of the pharmacy, pay a monthly membership fee. In return, they are able to purchase their prescriptions at cost—with no markup, saving them hundreds of dollars per month. I do not accept or bill insurance. My pharmacy includes these key components of the Christian mandate to care for others, especially the poor and needy."   LISTEN TO FULL PODCAST EPISODE   1. The pharmacy includes a nonprofit charity that dispenses prescription medications to low income uninsured members for free.   2. The charity pharmacy is paid for by the paying customers who are members of the pharmacy. This new business model is the best answer for the problem of pharmacist reimbursement for cognitive services because it completely circumvents insurance.   Our services are marketed directly to the patient. If you’re interested in learning more about how you can use this new business model, I’d love to connect. If you are an investor looking for a solid business opportunity that blesses the lives of everyone involved with the project, let’s chat.   Questions?   Call or visit us at: https://www.goodsheprx.com/ 1256 Union Ave 3rd Floor, Memphis, TN 38104 Email: info@goodshephealth.com P: 877-521-6337 F: 877-830-2923 Monday-Friday: 9a.m.-4p.m.   © Concierge Medicine Today, LLC. Statement of Support For Quality Scores of Hospitals-Surgeons

ATLANTA, GA FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OCTOBER 25, 2016    Concierge Medicine Today, a news organization and the Concierge Medicine industry’s oldest national trade publication for the Concierge Medicine and Private Medicine marketplace, issued a statement, noting, “Anyone seeking medical care, along with their referring Physician, should have access to a Quality Score [a simple, three-digit number] that individually measures their local hospital facilities, and surgeons, at the Procedure Level.” According to MPIRICA Health, a Washington-based healthcare quality transparency company that scores hospitals and surgeons based on actual outcomes for specific surgeries, “Quality Scores should be designed as an objective comparison of facilities and physicians, so it is essential that the quality measurements upon which the score is based are themselves objective, and that the underlying data is adjusted to account for providers who take on higher-risk cases.”   © Concierge Medicine Today, LLC. Psychology of Paint Color and its Effect in Healthcare, Part 2

It is an undeniable fact that color has the ability to affect the surroundings as well as be affected by the surroundings and the color of light that falls on it.   In Interior Design, a color is defined by various terms such as ‘primary’, ‘complimentary’, ‘warm’, ‘cool’, ‘hue’ and ‘tint’, based on several factors that also include shades. In advanced healthcare interior design, the color green is often used to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere, in both residential and medical spaces ...   Podcast Run Time: 24:52   Our podcast guest is Cheryl Janis, Principal Designer Interior Design for Health & Wellness   Cheryl Janis teaches doctors and healthcare professionals how to transform their practices into nurturing spaces that increase revenue.
