It’s safe to say you have heard of the Bermuda Triangle. That terrifying slice of sea that swallows ships whole and plucks planes out of the air. But did you know this isn’t the only place where strange phenomena occurs? There are other triangles to be feared. Places in our world that you can unknowingly walk straight into, and never return from. This week we visit Yosemite National Park’s Tenaya Canyon, where an alleged curse is to blame for deaths and mishaps, Vermont’s Green Mountain National Forest where a string of disappearances left locals dumb founded, and to Alaska’s final frontier – to the triangle responsible for over 16,000 lost souls. The fall is the spookiest time of year. People from around the world have traditions for this season.  Death, lore, and hauntings seem to be at the forefront of everyone's minds. Many people believe that this is Mexico's version of Halloween, although there are some parallels, this could not be farther from the truth. When someone mentions “Bigfoot”, a mental image pops into your mind, and we can take a pretty good guess on which one it is. Happy October, spooky season has started! Bring all of your hiking gear, plenty of water, and a ghost meter. We are kicking off the season by traveling all over the country to different National Parks and hiking along their most haunted trails. Feel the lake shore breeze in your hair as we travel in the same footsteps as Diana of the Dunes, a feminist and conservationist, that never left the place she fought to protect. Come with us as we head down a trail in the Grand Canyon with no water sources, 1000 foot cliff drops and over 100 ghosts that walk the area. Have you ever wondered what it was like to witness your own death? Your friends, siblings, parents – even your wife – have moved on. Accepted you as dead. There may have not been a body – but you went missing, deep in the Sierra Nevadas. But what if you survived? After weeks on end, alone and on the brink of starvation – you make it, returning home as a hero. Only to find the world you left behind is much different. Then, the same arms that welcomed you home as a hero push you away, and question your entire story. This nightmare was very real for Lieutenant David Steeves, who went missing in Kings Canyon National Park, returned from the grave and had his miraculous story of survival doubted – for the rest of his life. Join us this week as we head to Dry Tortugas National Park, but before we can go there we need to take a deep dive into some U.S history. Were going all the way back to the 1860's into the Civil War and following along with John Wilkes Booth as he assassinates Abraham Lincoln. Brush up on your horseback riding skills because we are going to be joining him as he flees on horseback into rural Virginia.  John Wilkes Booth wasn't alone though. He had accomplices and they are going to have to pay the price for conspiring with him. When a friend Dr. Samuel Mudd gets convicted after helping John when he is injured fleeing, he is sent to the most desolate prison in the United States. Fort Jefferson in Dry Tortugas. The conditions here are horrid and being imprisoned in a place surrounded by ocean, there is no escape.... This week we are abroad... again! With so many National Parks around the world, we can’t help but venture to far off lands. Someone else who had that urge, was Cody Roman Dial. The son of a National Geographic explorer and field biologist, Cody (who preferred to go by his middle name, Roman) followed right in his father’s footsteps. His own travels brought him all over the world, on extraordinary adventures most of us could only dream of. His final adventure brought him to Costa Rica, where he walked into the jungle for the last time. Come along with us as we learn about Roman’s life, disappearance, and the lengths his family went to find out what happened to their son.
