In the National Constitution Center in Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris will go head-to-head tonight in the ABC Presidential Debate simulcast on FOX News. This marks the first presidential debate between these two candidates, just a few months after the Biden-Trump debate that caused the election shake-up. The Vice President has spent several days in Pittsburgh preparing for the showdown and ramping up campaign stops in the swing state. Host of FOX's Media Buzz, Howie Kurtz, joins the Rundown to preview tonight's debate.Congress has returned from their summer recess, with a big issue already looming: funding of the federal government. House Republicans have proposed a bill that would fund the government through March 2024, but Democrats are pushing back on Republicans seeking to tie the funding bill to the SAVE Act. This proposal would bar noncitizens from voting in federal elections. Director of the Honest Elections Project Jason Snead joins the Rundown to discuss why he feels the bill is necessary to ensure election integrity and instances of local governments allowing noncitizens to vote in elections. The House Foreign Affairs Committee has released an extensive report on the failures of the Afghanistan withdrawal. In the report, the investigation found that proper plans were not taken to secure the Kabul airport before the bombing at Abbey Gate that left 13 American service members dead, with dozens of others injured. Now the Committee is seeking testimony from Secretary of State Antony Blinken to get answers about the report. Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX-10) joins the Rundown to discuss the contents of the report, who he believes needs to be held accountable for the failures in Afghanistan, and how Vice President Harris is now trying to distance herself from the Biden administration’s policies. Live Nation-Ticketmaster has been under scrutiny for years following several ticketing snafus, including the Taylor Swift Eras Tour debacle two summers ago. However, the entertainment company's problems are more significant than just unhappy customers. The Department of Justice is suing Ticketmaster and Live Nation over monopolistic practices. And now, the United Kingdom is also considering legal action after frustrated fans cried foul while trying to snag tickets to the upcoming Oasis reunion tour. Luis Elizondo ran the Pentagon's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program. Senior DHS officials are now saying targeting the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua (TDA) is now a “priority.” While the gang seems to have a presence in various cities across the country, in Aurora, Colorado, police have confirmed that four suspects arrested in connection to a shooting at an apartment complex are all known or suspected TDA members and city council members are saying they are taking over their city. Law enforcement officials in Dallas, Chicago and New York have also reported increased TDA gang activity in their cities. The August jobs report is in, and the numbers tell us the labor market is cooling off. The 142,000 jobs added not only fell short of economists’ expectations for job growth, but the Labor Department had to revise its reports from June and July, lowering job estimates even further.Even before this news, it was a rocky week for Wall Street, with tech companies taking hits, including the reliable chip stock, Nvidia.
