Seneca was also a playwrite, scientist, and statesman. He was the tutor of Nero and ran the Roman empire for five years. Peter B. Todd, MAPS, a psychotherapist with a Jungian orientation, is author of The Individuation of God: Integrating Science and Religion. He experienced clinical death, during cardiac surgery, in 2005, and was subsequently revived. He was also a gold medalist at the 1982 Gay Games in San Francisco. Here he suggests that the concept of an Omega Point can be understood both in theological and in evolutionary terms. He focuses on the writings of the Jesuit scientist and theologian Teilhard de Chardin who proposed that the cosmic, or archetypal, Christ serves as an attractor drawing humanity into an awareness of his consciousness. Here he discusses the life and work of psychiatrist Wilhelm Reich, who is widely regarded as having introduced the importance of the human body into the field of psychotherapy. Reich died in a federal prison in 1957 after having been convicted of medical malpractice and diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic. However, he was a very important cultural and scientific figure.
