Peter Russell is author of many books including The TM Technique, The Brain Book, The Global Brain, The Global Brain Awakens, From Science to God, Waking Up in Time, The White Hole in Time, and Letting Go of Nothing. He has been teaching meditation for a half-century. Here he presents his synthesis of the different spiritual approaches he has studied and practiced over many years.The common essence, he finds, is the concept of “letting go”. He points out that, when we try hard to push unwelcome thoughts out of our minds, the result can be an increase in tension rather than the deep relaxation that is achievable through meditation.
