Father-son, Massimo Bernetti and Michele Bernetti, oversee Umani Ronchi Winery in Italy's Abruzzo and Marche. The family started making wine in 1957 with a focus on the local Verdicchio and Pecorino white varieties and Montepulciano red in three estates. Founder of The Wine Advocate in 1978, Robert Parker Jr, has been called the most influential wine critic of all time. Robert Princic, Gradis'Ciutta
Vintner Robert Princic discusses his family winery, Gradis'Ciutta, in DOC Collio (Friuli Venezia Giulia) in San Floriano del Collio near the Slovenian border. The farm, originally called Monsvini (“Mountain of Wine”), dates to 1780. Princic’s family started Gradis’Ciutta with five hectares in 1945 after World War II; they now own 90 and practice organic farming. Princic makes white wines, a signature of the area, from native and international varieties and reds from international vareties. Nicolas Joly, La Coulée de Serrant
Loire Valley Vintner Nicolas Joly is a pioneer in biodynamic farming. He is proprietor of La Coulée de Serrant in Savennières, one of only three single estate appellations in France (the others are Romanée Conti, Burgundy, and Château Grillet, Rhône Valley). Once a monastic vineyards dating to the 12th century, La Coulée de Serrant has been under vine for nearly 900 consecutive vintages. It is one of three Chenin Blanc wines of different appellations produced by the Joly family. Feudo Montoni is an historic- and isolated- wine estate in central Sicily dating to 1469. Rosario Sireci purchased Feudo Montoni in the late 1800s upon discovering a wealth of ancient, pre-phylloxera vines. Third generation family member, Fabio Sireci, oversees wine production which focuses on cru-estate wines made from 100% indigenous varietals, all certified organic. Cape Classics is now the largest player in the South African wine import business and also imports wines from France. Beatrice Contini Bonacossi is a member of family-run Capezzana, Tuscany's oldest wine producing estate dating back to 804.
