This is an episode about an epic friendship between two women. It transcends marriages, divorce, miscarriage and sex and ends in the most poignant, tragic, beautiful way. When Molly was 41, she was given a life-changing diagnosis. And instead of living out the life she'd built with her husband, she left their 15-year marriage to go and have hot sex with strangers. And that changed the way she viewed herself, and her life, forever.  As well as being an actress, Madeleine is also an author. An activist. Today is Father's Day. And whether it's a happy, sad or complicated day for you, here at No Filter we wanted to share a special episode that serves as a reminder of how powerful the bond between fathers and their children can be. You might remember William McInnes from Seachange, or Blue Heelers, but what you may not know about him is that he can really tell a story. He’s been doing it for the past 30 years, first as an actor and later as a writer. William has written over 11 books. A lot of them, around the themes of growing up in Australia.  And his latest, Fatherhood, is a personal tribute to Aussie dads everywhere. William lost the love of his life, his wife Sarah in 2011. He raised their two children, Clem, and Stella by himself. He knows hardship and he isn’t afraid to share what he’s learned or get honest about his feelings.  This interview isn’t about grief or loss, it’s about a man doing the best he can for his family. Miriam Margolyes is an actress, comedian, documentary maker and all-round incredible woman. If you don’t know Miriam’s name, you’ll definitely know her face. She played Professor Sprout in Harry Potter, starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Romeo + Juliet, and was the voice of Fly in Babe. She's also made many documentaries, including her latest one for the ABC, Miriam Margolyes Almost Australian.  In this conversation, Miriam talks about coming out as gay to her Jewish parents in the 1960's, why her and her partner live in different countries and body image. It all started with a holiday to Thailand and a hoodie with a picture of a monkey on it.  That’s how Dotty Charles knew that the world had reached peak outrage. Dotty, also known as Ashley, Amplify Dot or A.Dot, is an English rapper, former BBC presenter and broadcaster. She's just started a new job as Lead Cultural Curator of Black Music for Apple and she's written a book called Outraged: Why Everyone Is Shouting But No One Is Talking.  Dotty’s message is clear: there are many valid things that we should be outraged about but if we’re outraged about everything all the time, outrage itself becomes almost meaningless. And nothing changes. So how do we break this outrage cycle of addiction so many people seem to be stuck in? Australians, and now the world, have fallen in love with a man named Michael.  And if you don’t know why, you’re about to. At the end of 2019, the ABC released a four-part documentary series called Love on the Spectrum, which told the stories of young adults on the autism spectrum who were dating, in relationships and falling in love for the first time. One of those young adults on the series is a man named Michael.
