Momentum was founded in 2015 to defend the UK Labour leadership of Jeremy Corbyn from outside the Party, and to provide a hub of extra-parliamentary organising. Today, the organisation stands accused of having failed to adapt to a post-Corbyn political scene, of seeking technocratic fixes within Labour Party processes instead of taking on McCarthyism within the Party directly, and - with the flailing of Labour's Socialist Campaign Group - of not even having a meaningful Labour Left left to defend.
