How to be an All-In Parent: Raising Amazing Chapter 1
I am so excited to be diving into the new monthly podcast feature where I am sharing highlights from my book, Raising Amazing: Bringing up Kids Who Love God, Like Their Family, and Do the Dishes Without Being Asked! Today we get to cover Chapter One: All-In! – Fully Embrace Your Role as Parent.
This chapter opens with my scary experience of nearly losing my first son right after birth, as well as my honest experience with mommy-burnout. I talk about perspective, and how being all-in is a decision we make, not just a feeling we experience. At the end I share 4 things being an all-in parent is not, and then I offer a long list of how we can show our kids that we are ALL-IN! Find a link to get the full downloadable list of 25 ways to be all-in, over in my website show notes:

How to Teach Your Kids to Mind Their Mindset, with Megan Hyatt Miller
Hopefully you caught last week’s episode where Megan Hyatt Miller gave us a little “Brain Science 101”. We talked about what it means to “Mind Your Mindset” (from her book with that title!) and the three steps to embrace a better mindset. Understanding this process can be an absolute game changer for your business, family, and every area of life.
In today’s episode, Megan tells the story of her parenting challenges with two of her adopted sons, and how that led her to learning more about brain science. She offers encouragement for how we might change our parenting mindsets. Then she shares examples and steps to helping our kids recognize their own false narratives, and then rewrite their stories based on truth. I love this topic so much and I think you’ll find it helpful, practical, and empowering!

How to Mind Your Mindset, with Megan Hyatt Miller
If you feel stuck in just about any area of life -- from parenting, to business or finances, to your health, this interview may be just what you need! Today I am talking with Megan Hyatt Miller -- President and CEO of Full Focus, a best-selling author, and mom to 5 kids! Through challenges she faced after adopting two of her sons, Megan discovered life-changing truths about the power of our thoughts...and our ability to change our thoughts -- and therefore, our lives!
Megan and her Father, Michael Hyatt, co-authored a book on this topic, titled: “Mind Your Mindset: The Science That Shows Success Starts with Your Thinking." Today Megan shares with us three simple, proven steps to rewire your brain for better thinking and the results you are looking for! I love how this topic aligns with the Biblical call to be "transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2).
Good news!! -- Next week Megan will be back to apply these concepts specifically to parenting! I hope you enjoy this episode, and you can find links to everything we talk about over in show notes:

What I Want You to Know About Raising Amazing, with Monica
Welcome to the FIRST episode of my new monthly podcast feature where I’ll be sharing highlights, nuggets, and free downloads and resources from my book, Raising Amazing: Bringing up Kids Who Love God, Like Their Family, and Do the Dishes Without Being Asked. I am so excited to walk through these chapters with you on the last Wednesday of each month of 2023!
This might be a good time to gather some friends to meet up with each month for coffee + podcast listen to chat through the chapters of Raising Amazing!
Today’s episode is brief as I am sharing simply from the “note to readers” at the beginning of the book. This is about the heart of the book, including the title, subtitle, and what to expect. Also, I take a moment to speak directly to the Dads…as this book is for them as well! ☺

Kids, Character, and their Future Success, with Dennis Trittin.
We all want our kids to have good character, but we don’t always consider how crucial character is to our kids’ future success. In today’s interview, former multi-billion-dollar investment manager, Dennis Trittin, helps us connect the dots and find even more motivation for raising kids of character.
After over 30 years managing investments and studying successful leaders all over the world, Dennis shifted his focus to sharing what he had learned with the next generation. Writing books and speaking to students, parents, and educators, Dennis is passionate about inspiring the next generation to embrace the kind of character that will help them get jobs, (and not get fired from them!) nurture healthy relationships, and live happy, fulfilling lives. Today we draw from his chapter on Character from his book, What I Wish I Knew at 18: Life Lessons for the Road Ahead.
It is great timing for the conversation because next week, (Monday, March 27th- Friday, March 31st) the doors to my Character Training Course will be once again open! See more and grab links below!

Raising Relational Kids in a Screen-Driven World, with Arlene Pellicane
If you are like 100% of the parents I know, 😉, your kids' relationship with screens causes you some amount of stress (and likely a good amount!) This is a difficult issue and one we might feel we will never catch up on. (and we're right.)
Arlene Pellicane is a great help on this topic! She has done a lot of research and written a number of books to support parents raising kids in this screen-driven world. Two of her books were co-written with Gary Chapman (of the 5-Love Languages!) and in today’s conversation we are touching on some of the most practical and helpful topics they share!
Arlene and I talk about the decision of whether or not to give a child a smart phone, (Arlene has a great solution to that one!) time limits on screens for kids, and how we can set better examples as parents in our own relationship to screens! I think you’ll find this conversation super practical and encouraging!
