It wasn't long ago that DC Federal District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan was presiding over Donald Trump's criminal case for his attempt to steal the 2020 presidential election form the American voters. Judge Chutkan is a fair, impartial, independent, and no-nonsense judge who refused to put up with the dilatory tactics and other shenanigans of Trump and his lawyers in that case.Judge Chutkan is now once again involved in a high-stakes court proceeding involving and impacting Donald Trump. A pro-democracy nonprofit organization called Democracy Forward Foundation has filed a lawsuit seeking the release of the Epstein files and related communications, including the Epstein client list, all communications between Trump and Epstein, communications between Trump administration officials on the Epstein matter, and other materials. This is a decidedly bad development for Donald Trump but a good development for the prospect of transparency and accountability. Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's convicted co-conspirator in child sex trafficking crimes, was interviewed by Trump's former criminal defense attorney Todd Blanche. The Donald Trump/Pam Bondi reality show continues with reporting that the DOJ will release a transcript of an interview Trump's former criminal defense attorney, Todd Blanche, conducted with convicted child sex trafficker and indicated perjurer Ghislaine Maxwell.In the interview, Maxwell reportedly said Trump did nothing wrong. Of course, we already suspected that was the case for at lease two reasons. First, after the interview, the DOJ rewarded Maxwell with a move to a cushy women's prison camp even though convicted sex offenders are PROHIBITED from serving their sentence at the facility to which Maxwell was transferred. Another day, another attempted distraction from the Epstein/Maxwell scandal. As Trump's presidency continues to be dragged down by the Epstein debacle and the favors he's doing for Epstein's convicted co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell, Attorney General Pam Bondi announces a bogus investigation into Barack Obama and his administration for investigating the connections between Trump and Russia in advance of the 2016 election.The harder Trump tries to distract from and coverup the Epstein files, the more he seems to alienate his base. Moreover, new reporting shows that congressional Republicans are ratcheting up their involvement in the Epstein matter by subpoenaing former Democratic AND Republican officials to testify about the Epstein investigation. The District of Columbia Board on Professional Responsibility has issued a report recommending that former Department of Justice lawyer Jeffrey Clark be disbarred for his role in Trump's efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.The Report states: "On the merits, we conclude that Disciplinary Counsel proved by clear and convincing evidence that Respondent (Jeffrey Clark) attempted to make intentionally false statements when he continued to advocate that the Justice Department issue a letter containing falsehoods. Thus, Respondent's (Clark's) conduct constituted an attempt to make intentionally false statements about the results of the Justice Department's investigation. . . A majority of the Board recommends that Respondent (Clark) be disbarred. With a big "FU" to the federal judiciary and the American People, Senate Republicans confirm Donald Trump's former criminal defense attorney, Emil Bove, to the 3rd Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. The Republicans didn't care that Bove was credibly accused of telling DOJ lawyers that they would need to tell federal court judges "FU" and defy their court rulings if those orders interfered with Trump's deportation efforts. In a related story, Attorney General Pam Bondi seemed to take Bove's advice. In a midnight filing in the Epstein and Maxwell grand jury transcripts matter, Bondi refused to comply with a judge's directive to state whether, before filing the motion to unseal, the Government (meaning the DOJ) notified the victims of the motion to unseal. Pam Bondi's Department of Justice continues to try to gaslight the American people in new and ridiculous ways, filing a complaint against the chief judge of federal district court in Washington, DC.Notably, the Washington Post published a deep dive piece regarding the unethical conduct of the Trump administration in federal court cases: "Trump officials accused of defying 1 in 3 judges who ruled against him."The Post documented how Trump officials have defied court orders in 38 cases, given false of misleading information to courts 9 times, withheld evidence from courts five times, and created a pretext to go around court orders 5 times.Against this backdrop of defying the courts, Pam Bondi has filed a "misconduct complaint" against Chief Judge James "Jeb" Boasberg claiming that he engaged in "judicial misconduct" when he allegedly said at a judicial conference that he had "concerns that the Administration would disregard rulings of federal courts, leading to a constitutional crisis".
