Josh Baldwin may lead worship, write incredible songs, and have the voice of an angel, but he’s also one of my favorite drummers I’ve ever had. Josh and I have a great deal of life and ministry history together. He’s a solid one I’ve watched and am incredibly proud to know and call, friend. What a privilege to have Daniella Mason for a second episode. I felt our conversation was important enough to carry on into a part two and I know you will too. Talking to Daniella Mason is like opening a fire-hydrant of testimony. She doesn’t drown you in story or processing, but she does flood you with an undeniable perspective that has been touched by the miraculous hand of God. What a joy to have Patrick Mayberry on with me this week! I love this guy and his pastor’s heart. I so relate to his journey and I know you will too. What God has refined in his heart is an invitation for each of us. Will we let the Holy Spirit affirm and permission us to be fully alive in our calling, free from expectations and what we think it “should” look like? So much great ground covered here, but it’s all about believing the bigness of God and aligning our faith with who He is. Scarcity is not God’s option for us, it never has been. I thought we would do something a little different today. I'd like to just invite you into where I am right now. I'm in the middle of sending my son to college, navigating some life changes, and in a new writing season altogether. So let's think of this as a catch up. This is really an episode for every creative who has felt led to produce or create something God has asked them to  ... and for those same ones who know that it doesn't always look like we think it will. Pioneering doesn't always look like financial or commercial success. Obedience doesn't always mean arriving to the destination we think. So today we're talking about what life looks now as a songwriter, as a worshiper and artist, and what I've got in my heart to do. With graduation season upon us and summer in full swing, change is inevitable ... and it feels particularly personal this year. So I wanted to take this episode as an opportunity to talk about letting go. Why? Because that's what the Lord and I have been talking about and I wanted to invite you to our conversation. It’s so easy to let the weightiness of life affect what should be second nature to us. Having a great day and someone asks you for a dollar? That’s easy enough. Having a bad day on the heels of a bad week and someone asks you for the same dollar? You might not find yourself at the same answer as easily. But the truth? Generosity, and the compassion that empowers it, are at the center point of who we’re called to be as believers, who God is, and what He’s called us to extend of ourselves. Each opportunity to be generous, especially when it costs us, is invitation straight from Heaven to know more of Him and His heart.
