Plus, he takes the stand AGAIN, and also addresses Sanda, and Lisa's family directly.  Best friends Lisa Bunce and Sanda Andrews were sitting on the front porch of Sanda's Florida home after a night out when 60 year old David Murdock pulled up and opened fire. Murdock shot Sanda once in the face, and shot Lisa a total of three times. He then walked outside, called 911, gave them the address, and told them he was sorry, he "had to get rid of the devil". 56 year old Lisa Bunce tragically lost her life that night, but Sanda- her best friend- survived to testify against Murdock. It took more than 5 eventful years for this case to make it to a jury. During trial, Sanda gives emotional testimony and explains what happened that night. It's one of the most polarizing cases in true crime history, and it's still not over. A 16 year veteran of the Boston Police Department, left to die in one of the biggest blizzards in Massachusetts history. Prosecution charged his girlfriend, 42 year old Karen Read, with his murder, claiming she hit him with her car during a fight and left him to die in the cold. The defense says Read is being framed, set up to take the fall by one of the most powerful families in this Boston suburb- all to protect one of their own. There are discrepancies in statements, missing camera footage, and deep family ties to everyone from the lead investigator to the attorney general’s office, to the judge. With every new piece of evidence, a new controversy arises. In May of 2016, a man is gunned down in the street walking home from a concert in the park. Louisville rapper Brice Rhodes shoots the man thinking there is a bounty on his head, but doesn't realize he has the wrong guy. Teen brothers Larry and Maurice, only 14 and 16 years old, were with Rhodes at the time. When Rhodes gets word the boys may have told their family about the murder, he kills them in such a brutal way that he became known as one of Louisville's most notorious criminals in recent years. Rhodes courtroom antics made headlines when he taunted the boys' mother in court, laughing at her and blowing her kisses. He threatened to kill the judge, spat on his lawyer, attacked other inmates in jail, as well as multiple corrections officers. His antics became so bad that he was forced to wear a stun cuff during trial. The details of this case are both heartbreaking and outrageous. Retired Navy pilot Doug Benefield lost his wife from heart complications in December of 2015, when their daughter Eva was only 14 years old. Nine months later, Doug meets Ashley Byers at a political fundraiser. After only 13 days, the 54 year old businessman marries the 24 year old former ballerina, during a secret ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina. Together they founded American National Ballet company, but after less than a year of marriage, Ashley walked out on Doug, and the company, on the day it was set to launch. Less than one year together resulted in three years of court and custody battles. There were allegations of domestic violence, stalking, child abuse, and even poisoning. In September of 2020, Doug was at Ashley's mom's house, helping load a U-Haul to move across country, when Ashley shot and killed him. Three young men found executed at the gates of a remote quarry in Wisconsin. Police had no suspects and no leads, until a woman walks into the Sheriff's office and says not only does she have information, but she drove the victims there and witnessed the whole thing. Two men were charged with the execution style deaths of Nemo Yang, Peng Lor, and Trevor Maloney in July 2021, and each blame the other as the trigger man. Thao's first trial ended in a hung jury, and this summer he faced a jury of his peers for these three murders for a second time.
