Should I Franchise My Business?

“Should I franchise my business?” As a franchise attorney, that is a question I get asked all the time! Truthfully, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Every business is different, and perhaps more importantly, every business owner is different. Today I’m diving in to help you determine whether you should franchise. To answer this question, I’m asking you to reflect on yourself and your business and ask five questions that we were all taught at a very young age: Who? What? Where? When? and Why? Admittedly, my questions to you are more precisely phrased as: Who are you as a business owner? What are your business goals? Where do you want to start franchising? When should you franchise? Why are you wanting to franchise? Being able to answer these questions will help you determine if the franchise model may work for your business. So, tune in to today's podcast to learn more about whether you should franchise or remain independent! Feedback: Have any suggestions for future shows? From a Burger Restaurant to a Franchise with Matt Frey

This week on Franchise Euphoria, I am doing a throwback to one of my favorite episodes where I had the opportunity to interview Matt Frey. Matt and his wife Rachel are the founders and owners of the wildly successful Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream, home of the Big Ugly Burger™. We discuss the process that they went through from opening their first restaurant, to opening more locations, and the decision to convert to a franchise model. Key business practices such as branding, employee education, and systemizing are also central topics in this interview! Among other things, I love Matt's passion for what he does, and his mission to help inspire, train, and grow his employees so they can learn, advance & benefit in big ways! For more information on Bub's franchise opportunities or just to reach out and say hello, call Matt at 317-727-3371 or email him at: bubs@bubsburgersandicecream.com So tell me, what was your biggest takeaway from this interview? Stop Putting My Food In Cheap Brown Boxes!

Brand quality and delivery has a huge impact on sales. I pay attention to all the little details when I go into any business. Especially a restaurant. It is a huge pet peeve of mine to go to a really good restaurant and get take-out and the restaurant does not pay attention to the small details like take-out containers. It may seem trivial but when a restaurant has a high quality product and then use cheap containers, by the time I get home the food does not taste as good as if I had eaten at the restaurant. When a restaurant does pay attention to those details I  get home with great tasting food with containers that are sturdy and branded. It makes me feel good about other aspects of the business that I can't see when I see that they are paying attention to the small details. I am more likely to go back and more likely to recommend the place to friends.
