Jyoti will be forever famous for one of the most impressive ‘one-hit-wonders’ ever – under his pseudonym White Town – the brilliant Your Woman, which reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart in January 1997. It also peaked at No. 1 in Spain and Iceland; No. 2 in Australia; No. 4 in Canada, Denmark, and Finland; and No. 23 on the U.S. Pop Airplay chart.
Since then, Jyoti has never compromised his musical credibility, and continues to release excellent new material, including his brand new album ‘Philogrammetry’.

As a solo artist Tom had further solo hits with War Baby and Atmospherics: Listen To The Radio, and co-wrote songs with Peter Gabriel, Elton John and Dan Hartman. As a radio broadcaster Tom hosts two shows a week on BBC Radio 6 Music.
He is still performing, and is much loved by his legion of fans.

EP170: Ned Augustenborg
Today’s enlightening episode of Electronically Yours features documentary maker Ned Augustenborg, who has made a fascinating film about an unrecognised hero of electronic music Don Lewis.
Don Lewis was an American vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and electronic engineer. He created an instrument called the Live Electronic Orchestra (LEO), which integrated multiple instruments under a controller system and predated the MIDI controller by ten years. He was also a close advisor for the Roland Corporation, and helped conceive the original design of the TR 808 drum machine.
The film is entitled 'DON LEWIS and The Live Electronic Orchestra' and is an astounding story.

EP169: Nick Banks
This fascinating episode of Electronically Yours features one of the original members of Sheffield’s own legendary post-punk rockers, Pulp. Nick started playing drums aged 14 and was inspired by Paul Cook from the Sex Pistols and Blondie's Clem Burke.
In his early years he saw many of Pulp's performances in Sheffield. He eventually joined the group in 1986 because "they were his favourite band". He is about to tour all over world once more with the band, and locally performs regularly with Sheffield band The Everly Pregnant Brothers.
Also, as the unofficial “memory keeper’ of Pulp, he has just released a very entertaining autobiography documenting his rollercoaster history with Pulp entitled ‘So That’s Where It Started’.

Speaking here is Homer Flynn, who is their official spokesperson and member of the Cryptic Corporation (the public facing organisation for the Residents). The members of The Residents remain shrouded in mystery after nearly 50 years and an amazing body of work.
Since their first official release, Meet the Residents (1974), they have released over 60 albums, numerous music videos and short films, three CD-ROM projects, and ten DVDs. They have undertaken seven major world tours and scored multiple films. Their exceptional work has influenced innumerable bands, including The Human League, Devo and Heaven 17.
