She is most famous for her crucial involvement with Marc Almond’s Marc and the Mambas. One of the first female DJ/promoters to emerge from the post-punk scene of Leeds and London, she spread her infectious enthusiasm for electronic music. Annie has worked with many seminal artists as pianist/keyboardist and arranger, including Simon Fisher-Turner, Nick Cave and Barry Adamson, then she was part of the Willing Sinners and then La Magia, co-producing their 1989 album The Stars We Are, which featured the number one single ‘Something’s Got A Hold Of My Heart’ featuring Marc Almond and Gene Pitney. This eclectically electronic episode features Alex Paterson, the founder of one of the most successful dance acts of the 90’s, The Orb.   Starting his journey as roadie for Killing Joke, and A&R at EG records, he moved into DJing. In 1989, Youth and Alex Paterson started the WAU! Mr. Modo label.
