Should I Invest for Cashflow or Appreciation?

  If you're thinking about investing in real estate or even if you've bought a rental property or two, you've probably asked yourself this question: should I invest for cashflow or appreciation? In this episode, we give you our take on this question and let you in on a little secret: we don't have to make that choice because we invest for both cashflow AND appreciation. Here are the highlights of this episode: Kenji has a lot of experience investing for appreciation so he shares what it "feels" like to gamble on appreciation, both when it goes your way and when it doesn't! We share why we focus on investing for cashflow and what it "feels" like to own a portfolio of cashflowing properties. We also share how it can be life-changing to have an alternative stream of income. We explain the difference between market appreciation and a different form of appreciation called forced appreciation. Stop and Think!

  Have you ever wondered why so many people make poor investment decisions? You might be surprised to learn that one of the main reasons is that that they don't take the time or space to stop and think. When you encounter a new investment opportunity, most people can easily list all of the upsides. But how often do you stop to think deeply about the downsides?
