Episode #114: Mycotoxins with Dr. Andrew Campbell, MD
Why You Should Listen: In this episode, you will learn about the impact of mycotoxins on health, including antibody testing for mycotoxins. About My Guest: My guest for this episode is Dr. Andrew Campbell. Thirty years ago, Andrew Campbell, MD started seeing many women who were sick from their silicone breast implants. Most of them eventually had their implants removed thinking it would solve their health problems, but it didn't. Dr. Campbell then connected with Dr. Pierre Blais in Canada, a PhD expert in breast implants. His research had shown that many implants had molds in them. He then started treating these patients with an antifungal medication, and they improved tremendously. As his reputation grew, many people started to come see him because of molds growing in their home or workplace due to water damage. Many had gone from doctor to doctor without getting any better. These patients had all kinds of tests done, taken all kinds of pills and supplements, and countless were told "it's all in your head". Dr. Campbell has helped well over 10,000 patients with health problems due to molds and mycotoxins. Everyone's immune system is unique and different, like a fingerprint. That is why there is no one treatment, no one size fits all. The key to the diagnosis and treatment is to see if a person has antibodies to mycotoxins from exposure to molds. These are toxins and have an exceedingly bad and toxic effect on health. He has published his findings with people affected by molds and mycotoxins in medical journals and as chapters in medical books. He has lectured on this subject at medical conferences all over the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. In all, he has published over 90 studies; 19 of them on the effects of molds and mycotoxins in people. Key Takeaways: What is the role of mold and mycotoxins in breast implant illness? What is the role of mycotoxins in "chronic Lyme disease"? Where in the body do mycotoxins have the most health-negating effects? What are the symptoms of mycotoxicosis? Do mycotoxins impact a fetus during pregnancy? Can they be passed to a child through breastfeeding? What is MyMycoLab? What mycotoxin antibodies does it test for? How long after an exposure should one wait to perform a MyMycoLab? Do the result differentiate between current or past exposure? Do mycotoxin antibody levels correlate to the severity of illness? How long should one wait before repeating the MyMycoLab after addressing their exposure? Can immune suppression or low immunoglobulins lead to false negative MyMycoLab results? Is there a connection between IgE mycotoxin antibodies and MCAS? How does antibody testing for mycotoxins different from looking for mycotoxins in urine? Is removal from the exposure enough, or does fungal colonization in the body need to be considered as part of a treatment strategy? How is autoimmunity potentially associated with mycotoxins explored? How is mycotoxin-associated illness treated? Episode #110: Earthing with Clint Ober
Why You Should Listen: In this episode, you will learn about the benefits of earthing. About My Guest: My guest for this episode is Clint Ober. Clinton Ober is CEO of Earth FX Inc., a research and development company located in Palm Springs, California. He first learned of grounding when installing Cable TV systems in Billings, Montana in the early 1960's. A decade later, he formed Telecrafter Corporation and built it into the largest provider of cable installation services in the United States. This company specialized in proper grounding of cable installations for safety and TV signal stability. In the 1980's, he turned his attention to the developing computer industry and partnered with McGraw-Hill to distribute live digital news services, via cable, to PCs. This led to the development of the first cable modem and an increased awareness of need for proper system grounding. Following a health challenge in 1995, he retired and embarked on a personal journey looking for a higher purpose in life. During his travels, he noticed people wearing plastic and rubber soled shoes that insulate the body from earth. He wondered if no longer being naturally grounded could affect us. The question led to an experiment that suggested grounding alone reduced chronic pain and improved sleep. Thereafter he developed a working hypothesis: Earth grounding the human body normalizes functioning of all body systems (Corollary: The body utilizes the earth's electrical potential and free electrons to maintain its internal electrical stability for the normal functioning of all self-regulating and self-healing systems). Over the past twenty years, he has supported a host of research studies (Earthing Institute) that collectively demonstrate that grounding alone reduces inflammation and promotes normal functioning of all body systems. Key Takeaways: What is earthing (or grounding), and why is it important for health? Is there a difference in disease prevalence between wild and domestic animals? What is the earth charge, and what role does it play in grounding? How might grounding lead to reduction in inflammation and pain? Are the potential inflammation-reducing effects of grounding observable with thermography? How does grounding affect sleep and cortisol regulation? Can grounding be used as a tool to mitigate exposure to EMFs? How might grounding normalize blood coagulation and increase oxygenation? Can grounding lead to increased ATP production and improved mitochondrial function? How long should one be grounded each day? Why might some with conditions such as Lyme disease initially feel worse with grounding technologies? Is there a difference between grounding with an electrical socket as compared to a grounding rod in the earth? Episode #109: Glucuronidation with Beth O'Hara
Why You Should Listen: In this episode, you will learn about the importance of glucuronidation in supporting detoxification and regaining optimal health. About My Guest: My guest for this episode is Beth O'Hara. Beth O'Hara is a Functional Naturopath and Functional Genetic Analyst specializing in Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, porphyria, glucuronidation, and genetics. She holds a Doctorate in Naturopathy specializing in Functional Naturopathic Approaches and a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. Beth found her own root causes contributing to her chronic health challenges and has been able to heal. After decades of seeing traditional health care practitioners, she felt like she was at the end of her rope. The medications often made her worse. Being given the wrong supplements didn't help either. Finally, she discovered a three-part approach that helped her get well: Genetic Analysis, Functional Naturopathy, and Emotional Wellness. Combining the three approaches allowed her to explore genetic root causes underlying her own MCAS. She analyzed her lab testing to better understand imbalances in her body and chose supplements personalized for her individual needs. Stress reduction techniques form a big part of her self-care as well. These things all allowed her body to heal. Since then, her passion is working with others with MCAS to find their root causes and support their healing. Beth has been in practice for over 10 years and has helped hundreds of clients. Together, she works with you to identify your unique root causes, analyze your lab results, and develop a customized healing plan based on your needs, goals, and lifestyle. She is the founder of Vibrant Blue Oils where she combines her training in nutritional therapy and aromatherapy to create unique proprietary blends of organic and wild-crafted essential oils. Her journey to essential oils began with her own health struggles when anxiety, depression, and exhaustion led her to being barely able to function. Simple tasks like answering the phone or doing laundry were completely overwhelming. Jodi has helped over 50,000 clients heal from brain-related challenges including anxiety, insomnia, and autoimmunity. She had tried intense restrictive diets, expensive supplements, and all sorts of therapies. These helped a little, but very little. Her first was to support her own exhausted adrenal glands and within minutes she felt like herself for the first time in months. She finally had a life vest. Eventually, friends and clients tested the formulations with similar success. As the author of the #1 Bestselling book, Healing with Essential Oils, Jodi was inspired to educate clinicians and individuals after personally experiencing the profound physical and mental benefits that essential oils could deliver. For the past ten years, Jodi has worked closely with healthcare practitioners - including MDs, NDs, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, acupuncturists, health coaches, nutritionists and yoga instructors - to discover the best essential oil protocols in clinical practice to support underlying imbalances that often lead to disease, including supporting sleep, stress, digestion, inflammation, detoxification, and blood-sugar imbalances.
