321 - How to Build a Following of Buyers for your Course Quickly (Even with a Small Email List) with Molly Keyser
I’m excited to introduce you to course expert, Molly Keyser, on the podcast today! We’re going to dig in to how to build a following of buyers when you have a small audience. She walks us through growing her first photography business to 6-figures, but realized she was trading time for money. So, she created a course and grew that to a $2 million per year business.Molly started blogging in 2014 and created freebies to initially attract an audience to her course. Now, she posts one video per week to Youtube. She has a VA and an editor who help her repurpose the Youtube video – they post clips to reels, Tiktok and shorts. She still directs people to her freebies and gets them on her email list. She’s just using a new channel to attract and drive traffic!What happens when they get on her email list? Then, they are part of Molly’s “master email sequence” that lasts six months! It starts with a welcome sequence and then moves to a nurture sequence, a free training and then a challenge.Molly gets feisty when we talk about evergreen courses! She definitely does not believe that you can just throw a course out there, do nothing and make money in your sleep! She walks us through what’s genuinely required to create a great evergreen course that WILL convert!Molly reminds us that email lists are still GOLD! So, yes, use IG and Tiktok to attract, but provide something of value to get people on your email list. From there, you can nurture the heck out of them until they are ready to BUY! 319 - Results Require Consistency and the True Secret to Consistency is to Play First with Natasha Ho
Let’s welcome Natasha Ho to the podcast today! Natasha has a background in PR and marketing and a love of travel! She started her first business – virtual cooking lessons based on all the flavors she experienced on her travels – during the pandemic.She then grew her business into retreats and now she works with creatives, coaches, and consultants to help them tap into playfulness to grow their business. She has found that playfulness is her special sauce – it really attracts people to her and adding it to YOUR business can help you continue to grow!If you’re a high achiever transitioning to entrepreneurship from the corporate world, you may find it hard to try new things, take action, fail and get back up. Natasha recommends changing your mindset – taking action and learning new things is what owning your own business is all about! If it doesn’t work, that’s ok! Now you have data that you can use to refine it next time.Then, we talk about consistency – one of my favorite topics! Natasha recommends considering a few questions around consistency: (1) Why is this something I want to be consistent around? (2) Does this action excite me? (3) Are my ideal clients the ones I’m excited to work with?Finally, if you feel resistance, consider if it’s that or if you’re misaligned. Natasha explains that being misaligned means the action isn’t aligned with your core values or character. However, resistance shows up when you’re uncomfortable. Just being uncomfortable shouldn’t stop you from moving forward because there’s an opportunity there! Jenny started out writing for a local magazine and quickly became the editor. In talking with business owners, she realized that they need help writing all kinds of things – email copy, blogs, website copy, etcJenny shares that good email copy is simply an extension of your personal brand. It’s a way to amplify your customer service, treat people well and share your knowledge. She recommends considering two things when writing your email: (1) What is the purpose of this email? How is it serving my email list? (2) How does this email list serve me as the business owner? If you’re unsure where to start, start with a personal story!What about sales emails?
