The random topic of conversation this week is all about the pretty obvious revelation that Tyler Perry doesn't have a writers' room for all of his projects. The guys discuss why this ultimately hurt his work and the implications of not hiring more Black and POC writers.

This week on Black on Black Cinema, the guys return to discuss the 2019 biographical film, "Dolemite is My Name" starring Eddie Murphy, Wesley Snipes, Keegan-Michael Key, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph. The film follows the unlikely rise of now-famous comedian Rudy Ray Moore as he goes from unsuccessful entertainment everyman to embodying the onstage persona of Dolemite. We see the creation of his first movie, "Dolemite" and what took the man from nobody to a household name in Blaxploitation.

This week the guys return to announce the next film to be reviewed, "Dolemite is My Name." This is, of course, the newly released film starring Eddie Murphy about the creation of the cult classic, "Dolemite" back in 1975 (on Netflix). The random topic of the week is about the backlash on some dudes for attacking Ari Lennox, Blue Ivy, and Teyanna Taylor for their looks at the start of 2020. The guys discuss the nature of actions online, and why such hard responses come back even when things might not be as dire as they are portrayed, and why somethings are far more harmful than folks realize.

This week on Black on Black Cinema, the guys return to discuss the 2019 film, "Luce." Starring Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Luce, an A+ high school student who was born in war-torn Eritrea, and later adopted by two liberal white parents (Naomi Watts and Tim Roth). Luce, the model student and kid, eventually runs up against a stern teacher (Octavia Spencer) who makes an alarming discovery that threatens Luce's status as an all-star student.

This week on Black on Black Cinema, the guys return to introduce the next film, Luce. The film follows a white married couple that is forced to reckon with their idealized image of their son, adopted from war-torn Eritrea after an alarming discovery by a devoted high school teacher threatens his status as an all-star student. The random topic of the week is about Senator Kamala Harris failed presidential campaign coming to an end this week.

This week on Black on Black Cinema, the guys return to discuss director Jordan Peele's sophomore project, "Us," starring Lupita Nyongo'o, Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph, and newcomer Evan Alex. The horror film follows a family during a serene beach vacation that turns to chaos when their doppelgängers appear and begin to terrorize them.

This week on Black on Black Cinema, the guys return to introduce the next film, the 2019 horror thriller, Us, directed by Jordan Peele. The random topic of the week is all about the comments coming from newfound gospel musician Kanye West. Now the former rapper is born again, he has some words for Black folks and even his wife.

This week on Black on Black Cinema, the guys return to do their Halloween special episode on the 1992 film, Candyman, starring Tony Todd. The film follows a murderous soul named "The Candyman" with a hook for a hand who is accidentally summoned to reality by a skeptic grad student researching the monster's myth.

This week on Black on Black Cinema, the guys return to discuss the cult classic, Dolemite, that was originally released in 1975. Starring comedian Rudy Ray Moore, the film follows Dolemite after he is released from jail, who then takes on the criminals and corrupt police officers who framed him in the first place.
