The Institutional Landscape for Bitcoin with Cathie Wood and Anthony Scaramucci

Welcome to a very special Bitcoin 2021 inspired Panel on the Bitcoin Magazine Podcast. This week Christian Keroles cohosts with Head of Research at Bitcoin Magazine Dylan LeClair a legendary panel with 2 legendary investors involved in the Bitcoin space, Cathie Wood Founder of Ark Invest & Anthony Scaramucci Founder of Skybridge. This panel was recorded on tuesday May 25th after a historically bloody weekend of negative price action. We kick off the conversation discussing the recent volatility in Bitcoin price and how Institutional clients are reacting to it. Scaramucci strongly emphasised that institutions really have not begun to enter into the space and Wood concurred and followed up that many institutions were afraid of top ticking Bitcoin and that the recent correction was healthy and desirable from an institutional perspective. We move on to discussing ESG and the recent negative press bitcoin has been receiving due to comments made by Elon Musk. Both Cathie and Anthony believe that the environment is important but also believe that Bitcoin’s incentive structure will continue to push it more and more towards renewables.  Lastly we dive into the macro market conditions that investors need to take into account when assessing Bitcoin’s potential market. Wood and Scaramucci take turns breaking down the implications of negatively yielding debt, the everything bubble, deflation, and intermingled counterparty risk all market participants are exposed to.  We close out with Bitcoin price predictions for the year. Please enjoy this fantastic panel with the legendary Cathie Wood and Anthony Scaramucci.

Bitcoin in Congress with Warren Davidson

On this episode of the Bitcoin Magazine Podcast, host Christian Keroles sits down with Congressman Warren Davidson of Ohio! Congressman Davidson burst into the Bitcoin scene in 2019 when in a congressional hearing he mentioned the difference between Bitcoin and “shitcoins” officially putting the term Shitcoin in the official congressional record. Congressman Davidson recognizes the importance of sound money in a free society and why Bitcoin is well aligned with American values.  Congressman Davidson is on the financial services committee in congress and is working hard to create more regulatory clarity for crypto in general in an effort to make America as competitive as possible for Bitcoin businesses to thrive. Congressman Davidson is acutely aware of how difficult it is today for a Bitcoin business to operate in the United States because of the lack of clarity and the purposely negligent attitude from the SEC regarding a Bitcoin ETF. Davidson is the coauthor of the Token Taxonomy Act which is supposed to bring an enormous amount of clarity and recognition of crypto to the US legal system. The act is still in early stages and Warren is fighting to get it the attention that it deserves.  Please enjoy this wide ranging and fascinating conversation with Congressman Warren Davidson.

Reflections on Satoshi with Adam Back and Pete Rizzo

This week for the Bitcoin Magazine Podcast we have a replay of last week's interview between Adam Back and Pete Rizzo on Satoshi's legacy. Adam Back the co founder and CEO of Blockstream and the investor of Proof of Work. Adam reflects on discovering Bitcoin and searching for the best information in the early days. He worked hard to understand the technical components as well as all of Satoshi's writing about Bitcoin. Adam is not a fan or over glorifying Satoshi or quoting Satoshi quotes. Adam thinks it is important for individuals to learn from Satoshi's thinking but to define Bitcoin based on the product and network itself. Dr. Back and Rizzo reflect on the difference between the stated intent of the bitcoin project, what is actually being built, and how Satoshi contributed to that ethos. Enjoy this wide ranging conversation on Satoshi's Authority, Influence, and legacy.  Topics:  How did Adam start to try and understand what Bitcoin was?  Do you think there’s any value in understanding what Satoshi thought about Bitcoin?  There’s an aversion in the Bitcoin development community about speaking about Satoshi. Can you talk about where that comes from?  Under Satoshi, Bitcoin had a very different development model. Bitcoin Core is today more of a meritocracy. Why does Bitcoin need a meritocracy?  Satoshi has been gone for 10 years. Is Satoshi Nakamoto still influential in Bitcoin today?  It’s been said nobody understands Bitcoin. Was it possible for Satoshi to understand Bitcoin?  What do you think was the biggest mistake that Satoshi Nakamoto made in building Bitcoin? Was it necessary to remove Satoshi ? Where does Satoshi Nakamoto rank in terms of the biggest intellectual contributors to Bitcoin?  Why do you think Satoshi hasn’t moved his Bitcoin?
