Jesus makes it clear in an interaction with Zacchaeus in Luke 19:1-10 that His mission is ‘to seek and to save the lost’. How do we disciple the next generation? Paul begins 2 Timothy by highlighting three things in particular: our own faith, our suffering, and communicating the gospel of grace.

What does a Christian home life look like? The qualifications for eldership which Paul gives in 1 Timothy 3 give us an excellent starting point, covering relationships, money, family life and more besides.

Paul describes the church as the household of God, a temple in the Lord Jesus, and a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. We are, in other words, a home for God.

The church is described as a family: a home for people. Practically, this has a number of implications for the way the church functions as a large family—and for the way the family functions as a small church.

In Psalm 65, King David calls all people to praise the God of Israel – this is what He’s due. However, praising God only goes so far as our knowledge of Him. Praise God, that He has revealed Himself to the world publicly in the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of David.

The poetry of Psalm 139 leaves us in no doubt – God knows us intimately. Every human being is precious. He has been thinking about us since before we were born and will never stop thinking about us. Even when we are angry He draws us back to Himself, that He might lead us into life everlasting.

God is our help and our protector. We must look to Him rather than depend on ourselves and others to protect and provide for us.
