From Pilate to Joseph of Arimathea, we follow the story of Good Friday through first words and last words. The words show Jesus understands our suffering – He faced pain and death. Today Jesus offers us grace and forgiveness just as He did from the cross.

We are in a storm at the moment, as a church, as a city and as a nation. The good news is that we have a King who specialises in calming storms.

We often refer to the night when Jesus was 'handed over', or 'betrayed'. But who handed him over? Luke gives five answers, and they are all important in understanding what happened at the cross. This message was recorded for the service on Sunday 5th April but this changed and Andrew will now be speaking on Jesus as 'King of the Storm'. Jesus often talked about himself as a stone: a stumbling stone, a rejected stone, a cornerstone. Why? What was he trying to teach us by talking like this? And how does it help us?

In this message, Phil talks about the story of Jesus encountering Zacchaeus. Through this story we see the amazing grace of God as Jesus calls a man who is far away from God. We also see the huge impact of the good news on Zacchaeus’ life as he begins to give his money away. We are living in an uncertain world, with all sorts of challenges and threats that can cause concern. In Luke 21, Jesus speaks into an extreme version of this, and gives the disciples some things to do, some things not to do, and the reason why.

The kingdom belongs to those who cry. Whether they are widows, tax collectors, infants or blind men in need of healing, the kingdom of God sees the exalted humbled and the humble exalted.

In Luke 16 we hear two of the most extraordinary stories Jesus ever told, and they are both about money. Both of them show us what it looks like to handle our money wisely: by living in the present in light of the future.

Steve Tibbert looks at the parable of the two lost sons in Luke 15, drawing parallels from how they represent different aspects of our culture and emphasises ultimately, this famous parable is about The Father's heart, compassion and grace.
