This week Guest Speaker Andrew Bunt speaks on the topic of Singleness.

The Scriptures place a very high value on children. Andrew walks through some of the implications, particularly surrounding abortion, adoption, and grace.

This is the last parable of Jesus in the book of Mark before the beginning of his journey to the cross. The parable is about a master assigning tasks to his servants while he is away from his house. The parable warns that the master, Jesus, will be returning unexpectedly and the need for us, the stewards, to remain watchful for his return. As we look at this parable, we discuss some causes of complacency and also how we can avoid this as we continue in our stewardship.

Through this parable, Jesus reveals his identity and authority. The parable centres on a vineyard owner who sends messengers, including his son, to the tenants, symbolising God's relationship with Israel. Jesus emphasises his authority as the cornerstone, challenging us to understand his humble yet key role. As we explore this parable's message, we're prompted to examine our own sources of authority and decide how we respond to Jesus' call in contemporary South East London.

Many people have heard the phrase "Cleanliness is next to godliness," but is it? In this parable Jesus teaches us what makes us clean and unclean and how we can come to The Father with every confidence that we are accepted.

The growth of God’s Kingdom doesn’t always happen in the way we expect; our hopes and experiences can often be misaligned. Using 2 very short parables at the end of Mark 4 we look at 4 principles about the way that God’s Kingdom grows, and how we can be a part of it.

Over the last two weeks, we witnessed Jonah's hesitation and reluctance to fulfill God's call to go. This week, we will explore the lessons we can learn from Jonah's journey, applying them to our own experiences of stepping out in obedience on our journey of going.
