Gideon from Hesman Athletics and Performance came on to talk about how they "built this event from the ground up to mimic the real race-day experience — from the venue to the pacing, transitions, and judging standards." He also shares how they're making the sport accessible for everyone, including 200-pound women and 300-pound plus dudes. That includes a division that swaps Assault Bikes in for running, and the launch of a TRYROX division — featuring "shorter runs, lighter weights, and a supportive environment focused on completing, not competing." I first met Gus at ATHX in Birmingham. Actually, I first heard him. This powerful voice with a fascinating accent was coming through the loudspeakers while I was pushing myself to exhaustion during ATHX two years ago. I later learned that he brings that booming voice and big personality to fitness races and competitions all over the world. I wanted to bring him on the show to hear more about his story and how he ended up in this space. What I got was so much more. He shared how he came to the UK with hardly any money and no English, did whatever it took to survive, and eventually thrived as a coach and business owner.
