Clergy Housing Allowance Upheld in Court --- 2019/03/20

Larry Hansen, an attorney in the Chicago office of Locke Lord LLP, joins Andy and Sarah to talk about Gaylor v. Mnuchin, a case before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago, regarding the constitutionality of the so-called clergy housing allowance, an Internal Revenue Code provision that allows certain religious leaders to exempt church-approved housing allowances from their taxable income. Hansen co-authored an amicus ‎brief on behalf of the Church Alliance, and talks about the case, the amicus brief, and why this case is significant for church workers.
