We rightly long for churches which help us love the Lord and provide supportive fellowship. We have great expectations of what the Church should be, but we experience many frustrations with what it is. Sometimes, going along feels like a chore. 2.2 What Stops us Experiencing God's Grace in our RelationshipsWe are called the Body of Christ, the ‘incarnation’ or en-fleshing of Jesus’ activity on the earth. This means that we are the way – dependent on the Holy Spirit- that God’s grace and love are pressed into this world. But so often there is like an ‘invisible barrier’ that stops us having the kind of relationships that God intends us to have –insecurity, fear, and other dynamics hinder close friendships.
