Too often, we have an inaccurate picture of Christ as solemn, but Jesus was full of joy, so much so that it was misunderstood as drunkenness—His joy was overflowing! The reality of joy in our lives impacts many places, one of the greatest being the ability to transcend above the pressures of life and the circumstances that we face. Joy doesn’t deny our situations, it establishes a deeper awareness of the goodness of God in our lives—it allows us to live at a higher frequency, from a higher perspective. This is why it is essential that we create a culture within and around us that honors joy. We can’t allow our joy to be dictated by the culture around us, and like the Person of Joy—Jesus—we must live seated above that in the heavenly realms. In joy, we find strength, liberation, hope, healing, perspective, and communion with Christ.
